I'm planning to get a SS in the next couple of days. But I just realized that they don't make it for the 2002 model. I think I'm in bit of a trouble here. Because my car was produce in June 2001, BUT my shifter have the same wide shiftgate as the 2002 model does. I know this for fact i that, I've tried it with friend's GT-S, which was produce in March 2002. And our shiftgate feels exactly the same.
So can I still get a SS ?

dunno, bout TRD or B&M, but TWM makes a compatible SS for all years of the Celica...

I think only the TRD is incompatible because it also replaces the shifter housing, and the 02 shifter is aligned differently than previous years.

My vehicle was made in 07/01 and i had the same problem as you, guy told me that we cannot use the TRD SS but we can use the TWM and B&M shortshifter so for you those are your two choices, there may be a few other ss you can put on but those are the 2 good ones. I personally have the B&M and its nite and day from stock

If you are really concerned... you can just order the SS and when you get it, just remove the bar from the SS housing and put it in the stock housing. Problem solved and you get a SS to boot.

if you're sure it has an 02 shift gate, get the twm, as it's perfect fit. i also hear you can get trd ss, but you have to use your current housing and just repalce the shifter. imo- go for the twm. try dave draper, they have it on sale for $100.
