Can someone sketch a trunk set up for me? Will pay $20 for the idea I'm gonna use :)
Here's what you have to work w/
stripped trunk, not even back seats are present.
two 12's, two amps, nitrous bottle and a cap, leave room for an lcd screen.
I want to do wood/carpet, no fiberglass. Would LOVE to show the amps recessed under plexiglass.
Can you guys draw some ideas for me?

Is this going to be completely confined to the trunk, or can it extend a bit into the rear seat area. Are you gonna have a spare tire?

do you never want ot have rear seats again? if so, you could do some cool stuff. But, at the same time, I would still want to have rear seats, up to you though.

Nate,
Maintaining the seats does give you closure to the sound display which, personally, is cooler visually and simpler to create. Without the rear seats, there's a ton of space to cover, more cost, and a good amount of "if's" about design. If it can be pulled off, more power to you.

thanks Will, but no seats
It can definitely extend into the area RIGHT behind the front seats

Im in the process og doing the same thing in my corolla (with rear seats)
heres a question for you,
what would you rather have at arms reach (back seat) the nitrous bottle ? or the amps for fine tunning ?
I can think up a few designs after that.

i made a sketch. It consits of 18 NAWZ bottles so that when u hit the buttons your car goes 10 seconds. I knew u'd like it nate. No, seriously i worked out a design i'm going to show you on saturday. I'd rather explain it to you in person and see what you think.

like i said...i'd kinda like the amps under plexiglass out of reach(on either side of the bottle)...and the bottle preferably in the rear....too visible up front if i get pulled over...

nate, you have to understand though that amps doo get hot, so you can't just keep em 100% sealed. That's what i would think at least. It's better to let them "breathe". I mean, i'm sure you could put them under plexiglass and they'd be fine, but that might shorten the life of them. Just an idea. I was think9ing of doing some 45 degree angles ormaybe a little steeper w/ the speakers at the back, nitrous bottle in the middle, another 2 angles for the amps, and then a large lcd in the middle. I'll show you like i said on saturday, but you might not like it.

meh, if u don't like it then oh well. it's not a big deal, but i'd seriously check how good it is to place something under plexiglass. Would there be any openings for air, or am i supposed to determine that?

it'll work fine under plexi, a buddy of mine did that, and he just put two tiny electric fans recessed into the plexiglass, one on each side of the amps, one blowing in, one blowing out, and it worked great. the fans made no noise either and actually looked pretty cool!

Sure it can, but its more bs. You need a ton of stuff to fill the space (like more than 2 12's and the equipment mentioned).

That's the thing..I wouldn't mind just some flat carpeted floor....for space if I need it...If I can fit everything in the back, then all means......that's fine w/ me.....

you don't need more room than your trunk most likely. I wouldn't It would look weird IMO to extend it into where the seats are, althoughit's still possible. Which would you prefer though? That would help. Like if you would rather have it stop where the seats are then design it around that or vice versa.

don't know..depends on how much room i'm gonna have.....then again..possible catch-22, right? design the rest depending on how big the screen is :)
anybody point me in the right direction for aux. lcd screens?
this is still considered "appearance" right? please don't move the thread ;)
