My car makes that same noise it might be normal. Sounds like a can of marbles rolling around.

Hey, I just had that same noise checked out. Well, i have the noise coming in from behind the dash, and it turned out to be the loose wires from the aftermarket cd player knocking against a metal beam. It only makes the noises when i'm slow, too.

You guys get that too?? Well, thats a relief! I thought it was just my car, and since I bought used, I was getting kinda weary. But, if it happens to your cars too then I guess its nothing to worry much about. You hit it on the nose with the can or marbles analogy. Let me know if find out what it is and how to fix it, either by yourself or through the dealer. Mine seems to make the sound randomly, so I don't know if I would be able to reproduce it for the dealer, oh well. Keep the board posted.

btw, my car is completely stock, I have changed absolutely nothing of the car at all.

Guys I have been looking through some junk and found that the aluminum engine makes the combustion process sound really strange. At idle it sounds like there is helium just pinging in the cylinders. Also the Variable valve timing might have something to do with it only being a low rpms or low acceleration. Depending on how hard you throw the pedal down or let it up the valves have a special cam that makes the valves only open as much as they need to. It's actually a good thing. Any one with a manual trans also may notice that it sometimes feels like the car is accelerating nice and smooth and then it feels like it isn't and then it comes back. That's what the whole vvti is all about.
