For those of you who are interested in the Stafford kit. I like to let you know that you should do your tranny upgrades before the turbo. Because during removal part of my tranny, all of the IC piping on the bottom side of the engine bay had to be removeed.

I was quoted for 3.75 hours worth of labor, just on the removal/install clutch, and flywheel combo. This was with them knowing I have a turbo on the car. The shop has previously done a bone stock GT-S clutch/flywheel swap, and it took them only 3 hours. It took them close to 4.5 hours yesterday just to drop the tranny. Because they didn't want to have to take off the full turbo kit I have, they were trying to take off as little piping as possible. :)

I am posting this because I got lucky that I found a shop that's cool enough to still only charge me for 3.75 hours worth of labor. For those of you that want to do the tranny upgrade after turbo goes on, you might not be as lucky. :D

For the people that might have questions on this post with Mr. Draper's kit. Because I am not sure how Mr. Draper routes his piping, I can't comment for him.

I can't really see from this angle but actually that clutch doesnt look too bad.

I know, I'm sorry. My digi wasn't picking up all the pitted parts on the clutch. I saw a lot of burnt parts on both the clutch and the flywheel.

The stock flywheel isn't as light as I have seen posted in other people's threads. That thing felt like it's 35-40 lbs vs. 20lbs I previously thought. :) Can't wait to test out the lightness. :)

Because the shop didn't finish dropping the tranny until late last night, they are going to install my Cusco LSD today and put everything back together.

Unfortunately they started late, they said they will try to get it done by 5 or 5:30. After that, they are ready to work all night to put back the tranny. :)

I had to offer my house as the beer joint for after the job. Well, if is completed tonight. :D

Crapola. No beer for them anymore. My 3-4 shift fork, and the 3-4 shift slider is going bad as if it's been jammed pretty bad. They advised on getting it fixed. So, unless my local Toyota has the parts for me. I won't be having my car for quite some time. :(

:( Mike

I had to know that too. So I went and got pics.

That's the fork. The shiny parts you see on the left fork is not suppose to be there. It's worn as hell. They measure it to show me. I have worn about 1/3 of that fork. You can tell by the 1-2 fork next to it, because the 1-2 fork shows normal wear. You can't barely see any wear on the 1-2 fork. Bad on Toyota for not filling my car with enough gear fluid when they gave me my engine. :(

Pic of the 3-4 slider. The slider is worn with/by the fork. In order for the slider to come out, I will have to replace the bearing on the end of the shaft. Along with the synchro(brass ring) right under the slider. I believe I am looking at $250 for all the parts. Because they are almost closed for the day, they won't be able to get the part until Tuesday morning at the earliest. So no car for some time. :( I wish they had parts in stock...I don't mind getting them a keg right now :D

Arrg. Talk to the shop again yesterday because I was suppose to pick up my tranny. While they were taking the gears and the forks off the shafts, they found the 1-2 fork looked like it was burnt badly. So that'll be replaced as well. I should be able to pick up my tranny and bring it back to the other shop tonight. If they pull an all nighter again, my baby should be done by midnight. :)

Remember you have to break in your tranny now, all the gearing fluid have not covered all the parts and because they are new you gotta drive slow for these couple of days :)
Hope you do get your car back today so you can tell us how it feels with LSD, I know I liked mine :D
