I've had the RMM intake on since March 2000 w/ 3000 miles. I now have 14500 miles and within the last 3-4 months the CEL has light up on 3 diff occasions. First time, I had around 12k miles and brought it to my mechanic in the bay area..he checked the engine..pulled out the fuse and sent me home. It didn't come on again until 2 weeks ago. Since I am no longer in the bay area, I brought it to a local dealership in San Diego. They checked the engine code, determined that it was either due to a loose gas cap or my intake. So they reset the cpu and also sent me home. Tonight, while cruising on the highway it lit up again..i don't know whats going on. Any suggestions guys? The only other power mod I have on is a TRD exhaust..

Called RMM today. They told me it might have something to do w/ the ecu being triggered off previously and thus being extra sensitive? What do you guys think? He suggested to just disconnect battery for a while and let the computer get rid of short term and long term memory..

So, the light came on again. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the RMM intake. I had the RMM for a month before switching to the Injen and never had that problem and usually an intake with a air flow sensor shouldn't have a problem with the engine light. Bring it to RodMillen up in LA and ask for a new one.

I have a RMM intake and had the CEL come on. The code was a random misfire with no specified cylinder. The problem ended up being that RMM doesn't oil the filter and it ended up sucking condensation up into the throttlebody and caused a misfired. Toyota reset the computer and I went to the local car parts shop and got the K&N air filter cleaner and oil. Cleaned and oiled it and it hasn't acted up since. I dont know if this applies to your situation, but make sure the filter is oiled anyway.
