I am looking for some good sound quality as well as being as light as possible. I also think that a bass tube looks cleaner....any suggestions or tips are welcomed!!!!!

They suck I had one in my old car, I blew it out a week after the warrenty was up, I never pushed it hard enough that it should have blown but it did, Yes they do look cleaner and take up minimal room, but you can bearly tell a difference with them, Their is a little difference but they don't produce enough bass to justify buying one. My advice is if you want a clean sounding system with a little bass but not mindboggleing go with one 8, They are clean and they don't over power the rest of the sounds,

Generally if you are thinking about Bazooka's..... THEY SUCK!!!
The only good one I know of is the Hsu Subwoofer. You probably never hear of them, but they make audiophile award winning subs for Home - cheap. Very nice Quality.

If you do decide to go with a Bass Tube...the sound quality at low volumes will...well suck. Most of the tubes that I have heard have a very nasty hallow sounding bass at low volumes...doesnt thump like an 8 or 10" in a box.

thanks for the response guys....now that HSU bass tube looks interesting, is there any more info regarding price or availability???
What other setup do you guys recommend that gives decent bump but is still lightweight??? Now I know that bandpass boxes are looked down upon, but what about high quality ones (if there are any). Thanks again guys!!

I have a 10" Infinity Perfect with QLogic sealed box and the sound quality is excellent. My friends who sat in my car and then saw my sub could'nt believe it. They was like "That's it?!!", its small.
Its not bad, about 25 - 30lbs.

I did my system with 2 12" subs and used 12" tube material. It is way lighter than mdf. In the end I have no complants except when I am in a go fast mood ( allways ) I wish I could have made it even lighter. :)

Well Infinity Perfec's are just an all around awesome and very clean sounding sub, they hit hard but cleaner then a lot of subs. But they are expensive.. the good part about them is that they don't require as much air space as other subs. I can't remember exactly the requirements in cubic inch's... but its less. I'm actually going to be upgrading my Kenwood 10" to Perfec 10's and making a little bit smaller of a box. Right now my 10's are in a custom built box to fit perfectly behind the seats and leave a ton of trunk space.. enough to get to the spare tire without removing the box.. so we'll just make another like that but smaller.
As far as weight. to the original poster.. i don't think a tube sub is worth the money or whatever weight it saves.... they just plain out don't sound as good as a regular sub. If your worried about weight you can get like one 10" sub like the Infinity Perfec which will still put out a ton of bass and sound clean, and get a small box. It would be worth any extra money just for the sound quality.

Coincidentally that is exactly what I have. Good choice.
