Can you you run Nitrous on 91 Octane gas (35 or 50 shot)? Since it seems to be impossible to get 92 Octane (which is stated as minimum requirement in the NOS catalog).

I've been trying to get this answered for weeks.....anybody????

I do not see why you could not run nitrous on 91 octane gas. People out in Cali run turbos on 91 octane so why not :)

I would not go above a 50shot though if I were u. If you want to be safe you could always up the fuel pill a little bit to make sure your a tad on the rich side.

my local nitrous shop said 91 was ok, but I'm a little paranoid so I just mix in some of NX's Power Booster (the red bottle). It's a little expensive, but it gives me peace of mind.

i was thinking about creating a standalone fuel system to use only when i squeezed, but it would cost a couple hundred bucks and i'm lazy. imagine... having a little 1 gallon fuel cell w/ 100 octane race fuel.

you'll be fine with 91. i used to run a 100 shot on my 97 mustang and i used 91.

imagine... having a little 1 gallon fuel cell w/ 100 octane race fuel.

that's the right way to do it, dedicated fuel cell with 100+ octane race fuel, dedicated fuel pump, dedicated return type fuel system with low psi fuel regulator (5-15psi) , feeds into a wet direct port setup and then into the motor, controlled by a progressive controller and running about 150 shots on 4 cylinder cars and more on bigger motors

the only RIGHT way to do it : ) ...but hten if i wanted to spend 2k i'd put my turbo back on the 5sfe...

oh btw those octane boosters don't do jack , if you really want to raise youre octane look into toululene, methanl, ethanol and water/methanol injection

or propane.. its the simplest and cheapest IMHO.

i talked to NX and they told me that their Power Booster wasn't an "octane booster", but that it kept your fuel from detonating prematurely... which is is pretty much the same thing. :wtf:

i've always used it and haven't had any problems so... i'm afraid to quit using it. i've looked around for toluene, but none of the paint stores around here sell it.

i thought propane only worked in diesels

speaking of diesels.. there's a recipe somewhere for an octane booster using toluene and diesel fuel. i guess the diesel fuel works as a cleaning agent

yeah NX's answer is fishy : )

most octane boosters that claim to raise the octane rating by 1 point means that you go from 93 octane to 93.1 , even though most people belive you go from 93 to 94

it's just not true especially with such a small quantity

i've heard of propane injection on Twin turbo supras and i know those don't run on diesel : p

but i don't know much about propane injection so i won't elaborate any
