Does anyone have a mountain bike rack for their celica or know where I can find one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Was toying with this idea myself about a year ago. The standard fold up bike racks that you can put on the hatch may not be a good idea as the bike shop owner pointed out to me, as part would rest on the back bumper cover, which isn't flush to the bumper itself and could cause some denting or bending of the cover. You could always go with a roof rack, which could be a pain, don't know, never delt with one. I was considering adding a hitch mount and getting one of those racks that attatch to them. Only problems I see with that idea is the hitch mount might not be easy to hide when you don't have the rack on, and I've heard the hitches are fairly heavy, so they'd add weight on to the car, may not be significant though. Sorry this doesn't exactly tell ya what to do, but I haven't desided myself yet, and it atleast gives ya some info/options. I've just been folding the back seats down and throwing the bike in the back, works good enough if I don't have any other cargo.

Thule makes a setup for our cars cause i was looking for a snowboard rack. there are alot of parts involved and the cost was up to over 400 bucks...thats just for the feet and rails. nothing was resting on the trunk, but you couldnt open it all the way, and the sunroof couldnt be opened. yakima makes a setup for us too

hehe, I have a Yakima Roof Rack that holds 3 bikes . I use it only when I ride or when I have a race event. I should take pics and show you guys;).

I fold down the back seat, take off the bike's front wheel and my bike fits right in the back of my celi.

I do the same. I just fold the back seats down, and take the front wheel off. I'm moving my bike around all the time and this is the easiest way.

Why do you need a rack? Any bike will fit easily in the hatch with the seats down no need to even take the wheel off. Even two bikes will fit with a little work. I MTB every weekend.

i have a rack that works great. Cant remember what brand but i need to sell it and my bike anyway. I had a bad motorcycle accident 2 yrs ago and my foot still cant handle riding. If you are interested in the rack I can send you pics.

Alot of it is convinence. Actually, I normally put my road bike in the back of my car, but when I have my wife or buddies with me, I use the roof rack.

Well I am only going to be traveling with it to and from school for the summers. I would just stick it in the back but I have a speaker box that is bolted to the frame flush with the back seat so that is not a possibility for me. Thanks for the advice though, I will prolly look at that yakima option for starters.

When I first got my celica, I started out by removing the tires from my MTB and fitting it in the back. I would suggest lining the trunk with a tarp though to keep it from rubbing the interior and to keep the mud/dirt brought level down. That worked out ok for me but was a bit of a hassle.
I considered getting one of the hitches. We put one on my girlfriends car, and it works out great. It definitly adds a lot of weight with the rack and bikes on though. One of the guys at celica garage celica garage (http://www.celicagarage.citymax.com) had pictures of his celica and with hitch on their site a while back. It didn't seem that noticeable when the rack was removed.
Personally, I took the money and put it into a pickup truck with a cap. I fit the bed with a custom bike rack. It is the easiest setup I have tried. My bikes are secure and when we have an event, I can carry up to 8 bikes for my riding teams.

I mount mine on my tow hitch.
