Well, I finally went and got the wheels and tires I wanted- Kosei racing K-1s in 15x7 with Falken Azenis 205/50/15. Looks good, but I now have lots of wheel gap again.

I've tried them out on the car, and wow! They feel just like the Kumho Victoracers I borrowed last year (from Beno Rubin, if you remember him, Scott.) The same sort of slight numbness I saw with the race tires. They pick up stones almost as much as the Kumhos did, as well. The grip is great! No wonder these are the tires to have right now for street tire classes.

My problem, though, is storage. How do you guys store the race tires between events? What makes sense to me is flat on their sides with resuced air pressure, so as to not make a flat spot on the tread, but how do you guys take care of them?

Where ever they fit. Out of the sun is the only thing I would emphasize. Cool dry and dark would be best, but cool damp and dark will be fine. I suppose on thier sides will minimize flat spots, but I wouldn't worry too much about them. I keep my tires on the trailer 24/7 unless they are on the car.

also, deflate the tire pressure if you're going to store them for long periods. it keeps the rubber from stretching over time. remember its elastic.

Ideal storage would be cool temp, individually sealed in black plastic garbage bags, away from electric motors or other ozone producing electrical fields, on thier side, with the pressure reduced x 10#.
All that said and done, ours are never stored for any length of time so the stay on the trailer with the tiedowns loosened, or stacked up on the floor of the shed we store our trailer in. There are currently 4 sets in there (3 mounted), with a 5th set and wheels on the way. When they arrive I'll have to bag up the unmounted set and put it in the basement as a desperation set.
