We were talking about the first saturday of Feb. I'm going to check tomorrow, but my schedule says we are working that whole weekend. The second saturday might be better for me if that works for everyone else. I'll post tomorrow though if I can do it the first saturday.

the 2nd saturday should work for me, or just about any other weekend too (except the 16th, thats when the auto-x school is).
by the way, i still wanna go take the msf motorcycle course one weekend and get my license, and just wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in doing this. i think it's $50 and lasts a few hours a day on fri-sun(i think they give the class every few weeks). part of the time is in class and the other is on the bikes learning everything you need to know, and at the end you get your full license if you pass the test. let me know if anyone else wants to go do this sometime.

Cody, when I took that course it was verry hard to get into. The first time I tried to get in it was booked through the end of the year. I sent the papers in a week or so after the registration started for the new year and didn't get in until september. If you want to do it this year, unless things have changed, you better check on it pretty soon. It seems like they started registering in Feb last year. It was a good class though. They will take you from never having ridden a bike to doing some pretty technical stuff in one weekend. It is friday night and all day saturday and sunday. Then at the end you get a certificate which you take to the liscensing office and it exempts you from taking both the written and the riding tests. I would definately recomend taking it. Plus you get to learn on their bikes so if you drop it your not tearing up your nice R6.

The Second week of feburary I am going to Geogia Southern to visit a friend and on the 16th I to have the Novice School but any other day is good for me.

thanks for the advice duncan, i'll try to call within the next few days and sign up for it. then all i'll need is about $5000 so i can get that r6.

what does everyone think of those tails posted in the Mod/Performance I think they look cool I want to see what the Carbon fiber will look like and maybe get them/

I'm hoping the CF ones look slightly better than they do in Bomber's PhotoChop, if so I'll probably get them. Going to try to get a hood scoop in CF and now those tails if they look good... a few small things in CF I think will look good on the black...

i think those tails are real nice. i plan on getting them sometime soon (however i'm still not sure if they'll come before the other stuff i wanna get). i found out today i can get my hood fixed and completely repainted for $150 so that might be the next thing i do. after that, i'm debating between HID's, Tom's Lightened Flywheel/TRD or Blitz clutch/TRD LSD combo (i'll have to keep saving a little longer for it), or start a bike or a turbo/supercharger fund. (have to save a whole lot longer). any suggestions?

I have good news and bad news. The good news is the testing over the weekend was cancelled so I can make the meet. The bad news is I just got home from working a 14 1\2 hour day and it sounds like thats how the rest of the week is going to be, so I'll probably be grouchy as hell saturday. Hopefully not. I have no idea when I'll be able to get back onto the celica projects. It is really frusterating to see them sitting and not getting done. I'm hoping to order the springs and struts in the next week or so. Who wants to help me install them? (insert imaginary smily) I'm hoping my boss will let me do it in the shop one weekend.

By the way if any of you were looking to get TRD springs there is a guy selling them in the forsale forum for 130. He said 180 originally and I told him it was too much. They are brand new he said. Maybe you could get him to ship them for 130.

01-28-2002, 10:43 PM
If I hadn't just spent 1500 on my rims I might have bought those springs but I think I should wait a little while before spending any more on my car, I have no idea what we should do for the meet this weekend, I am so tired right now because I just finished my home work, and I was at school today from 9 - 4:45 A full day of classes (4) Then went bowling and did my homework this sucks I have to be at school in 6 1/4 hrs

Mark my wheels took three days to come in. One day for them to mount, balance, and prepare to be shipped. Two days to get to me.

Cody I would go with the flywheel, clutch, and lsd. You will need the clutch and lsd if you get the turbo anyways. I think a reliable turbo will be very expensive even if a kit comes out, unless you install it yourself. Or you could wait till the summer and see if TRD is going to come out with anything like that other post said. It might be expensive also, but you know it will be reliable if TRD makes it.

Duncan I'll help you install your springs. I don't know how much help I'd be though since I've never done it. We could do both our cars.

I agree with barry on the clutch and lsd. I want one too but it's a b**ch to install. I'd pay someone else to do it personally. But as far as upgrades go its a REALLY good one. Having power is one thing but how you transfer it to the wheels is another. I wonder how much it would be to get it installed? Oh well. My rims are still on hold, but now I have set the CF hood in motion. Doubt I'll look any different when you see me. When is the meet and where?

yea, i've decided to go for that combo, now it will just take me a while to save. hopefully the selling of some of my parts (stock and broken WW wing, stock front, and old rims) will go through, and maybe i'll get some tax money back too. but it'll still probably be a few more months. anyone think of where to meet too? i'd be down with just about anywhere.

This stinks I just got off the phone with my boss he told me he just got in 4 more orders, and two of them have to be completed by next tuesday, This was supposed to be my first weekend off since Christmas but now I am not even sure if I will be able to go to Georgia Southern weekend after this one, darn just thought I'd share

well I just got home from working a nother long day(15 hours this time). It sounds like he is expecting me to work all weekend too, but I am going to try my best to talk my way out of at least saturday. Barry, that would be cool. It might actually be helpful to have the suspension on one car apart while the other one is still together to look at and make sure all the parts are in the right place. Then do the other car using the first one as a reference. When are you planning on getting yours? I'm hoping to order mine in the next couple weeks. I may be able to get TRD stuff cheap now. I'm not sure yet, but a guy that works in the composite shop I'm working at used to be a Toyota mechanic and said he can still get parts at cost. He is also bringing me a TRD Japan catologue tomorrow. If he comes through I'll let you know and see if he can get more stuff. Cody, I also talked to the guy I just mentioned about changing clutches and stuff and he said the engine in our cars is really easy to take out. He said the easiest thing to do is pull the whole engine out, pull the trany housing off once its out and do the swap. I wouldn't want to attempt it, but at least that makes it sound like it might not be too expensive.

Just an idea does any one want to meet up at barrett parkway maybe US play in the mid afternoon, If we did that I may be able to go in early on Saturday, and leave a little early, I am just going ot be 3 exits north of Barrett Parkway on 575 so its only like 15 mins away, just an idea since no one else has mentioned any thing, I will have my rims by then I talked to tire rack today and they said they would probably go out wednesday and be delivered on friday I can't wait, I will find out on thursday if I can go in early and leave early,

Okay guys Im about to buy this c-wings CF hood. Do you think I should? Any opinions? I was gonna just get the c-one hood scoop but I can't help but want a cf hood. Do you think it will look good? Not gonna have my rims for another week most likely. They have a new model coming out and I'm trying to get pics of them before I settle on the passion 5.

What color rims are you getting? If you're getting a darker color I would go with the Cf hood. If a lighter color go with the hood scoop.

Hey check out this trim kit I found in group buy... What do you think cody? It would save me from painting the dash. I bet they don't make it for 2000 celicas...........

That does look good but your probably right they most likely don't make it for the 2000 Celica's Only thing I have seen is the carbon fiber dash kit, I would definitly get the CF hood from pics I have seen on Spectra Blue it looks really cool, if you do get it make sure you get hood pins, its not worth the risk of the hood poping up at 80 or so,

1 1/2 days till I get my rims http://www.plaudersmilies.de/happy/bigok.gif

Cody- what time is the novice school I completly forgot for some reason I think 8 but I hope I am wrong,
