"Cleaning out" the member database

With the site at over 12,000 members, would it be a good idea to erase the usernames that have been banned or people that haven't logged in a year or longer? I remember when I first signed up for this site, the original username I chose was taken, don't remember what it is now though.

No I do not think its a good idea. There are alot of reasons behind it but the main reason is that I dont want people using the same screen name someone else has used. You can confuse the person for two diff people.
