The gas tank holds 14.5 gallons so divide that by the number of ticks on the guage and you'll get gallons/tick

Actually..the first tick....is a reallly big one. Because after driving 50 miles, it finally goes out for me. So I dont't think you can simply divide to find out how much each tick holds. Because the ticks are unequal. :o)

The ticks are incredibly uneven. BoonyBoun is correct that the first tick is huge and I have actually gotten 71 miles out of this first tick before during highway driving. In addition the last tick is incredibly large as well. The last tick alone is at least 1 1/8 gallon. (the tick where there are no ticks left)

Guess you'll just have to use that old gas station receipt thing. :)
I have been getting about 330 miles in one tank of gas. Thats not letting it get completly empty too.

Reset your trip meter the next time you get gas. Drive to as close as empty as possible. Then fill up your tank and take the number of gallons your car takes to fill divided by the number of miles on your trip meter. Shouldn't be so hard.

That would give you the number of miles per tank......but it won't tell you how much each tick is. Sweet Jebus! :o)
