Ignition amplifiers make power by increasing the intesity of the spark, which results in a more complete burn of the air/fuel mixture in the cylindars. The gains that you would expect to get from this will vary greatly depending on what the factory ignition system is like on the car.

The Celica comes with an excellent ignition system. It comes with iridum spark plugs, which each have their own seperate individual coil. Adding an ignition amplifier to a setup like this is just a wast of money IMHO. I've never seen a dyno done on this before. I would guess that it would give a Celica about a 2 or 3 hp increase.

Like you mentioned, if your car had forced induction it will probably yeild a greater increase because there will be more fuel in each cylindar that needs to be burned. But without, its kind of worthless...

Chameleon is right. In fact I'd be very surprised if there was any gain shown for this kind of mod on an NA motor. Though I have heard that gas milage is better with them on NA cars. *shrug*
