Hitting Rev Limiter

Does it hurt the car nor the engine? Because I rev my car so high that the needle bounced at least like 5 or 6 times.....i know that is a stupid thing to do...

but will it do any damage?

I just installed a RSM, so I was trying out the timer mode....so was running the car hard...

It's not good for your engine if you repeatedly do this, on a regular basis (sounds repetitive, I know :) ). Trust me, I've done it before, while auto-x'n and it's not good, in the long run ;)
