Hey everybody, I bought my car a month ago and right now I am saving up my money that I have left over from payments for the TRD Body Kit and Exhaust. I bought the TRD catalog, but it didn't help me out at all, and only rehashed things I already knew. I called up the TRD hotline and they said they no longer carry the body kit components and that they have to be special ordered from Japan. What I want to know is how much it would cost for me to get the aerodynamic front bumper, rocker panel side skirts, and the rear valance set with the extended exhaust pipe (I won't risk messing things up with the stock tip). Can I buy all the body kit components excluding the rear wing (I like the rear wing I have already just as good)? How much will this end up costing me? I know it won't be cheap or anything, but I just want an estimate as to how much the damage will be. Thanks

TRD body kit? Forget about it. They charge way too much. Your only hope is finding it used. If I were you I would just be on my merry way and shop for a different body kit. TRD extended exhaust is somewhere around $500.
As far as a wing goes, sure the stock one is "fine". But I get the impression this somehow helps the car but it doesn't. It's purely for aesthetic purposes and the car would perform best without it.

I doubt I am going to go with a body kit made by anyone other than Toyota, the reason being that the Toyota one is the one I want, and because it isn't fiberglass and is guaranteed to fit nicely on my car.

I thought TRD kit was fiberglass?

No, the TRD catalog says that the body kit for the Celica is polyurethane.

There are plenty of quality body kits out there. Rod Millen kit is one for starters. Veilside is another that comes to mind. You gotta remember that the Celica is a show car and we have aftermarket up the @ss in that department. If we had as many people working on turbos, rods, pistons, and head kits instead of body kits and tite spoilers we would be running 4s by now alongside John Force! :)
If you insist on TRD then plan to pay $2500-3000. Enjoy.

The TRD kit is the same one that now appears on the "Action Package" Celica. As far as finding one used... good luck. It's rare, but not impossible.
Why not just get Wings West? It's so similar and it's a nice price. Looks great in person too.

thanks Maelfyn.. the wings west one huh??.. im not sure if ive seen it.. i havent looked into body kits much cause im doing more performance oriented mods.. but this was something i was wondering.. proly when the time comes for one i will go for a veilside(which ive seen and do like).. or the wings west.. after i see it of course.. lol.. spending that much money and pain to find a TRD kit prolly isnt worth it... for me at least.. but it is one of the nicer kits.. i gotta give it that.. :)

hey i actually did what you want to do ... i was in the process of looking for things for my car. I really didn't want a body kit as my first mod but i came up on a great offer. Knowing that the body kit was expensive i found a used TRD mechanical front and rear valence and some replica side skirts that some guy was selling. He was asking for 1000, and it was already the same color as my car. so i couldn't pass up that offer. The front and rear are body polyurethane, and the quality is amazing. fit is perfect. but sadly the side skirts have gaps in them. So i just say find someone selling their kit, u might get lucky. I know ur jealous of me. hehe. j/p ... oh erebuni makes a replica of the trd kit ... i know some on the board has it too .. u should try and find him. he's got a silver celica... okay good luck finding ur kit

bLaH1031, Erebuni us pretty notorious for really poor quality. Their reproductions are usually not knockoffs of originals, but rather knockoffs of knockoffs, or fiberglass molds taken from other molds, which results in an aftermarket part that will just not line up to the body the way it should. Plus, I have heard several times that their fiberglass is extremely fragile, and that it shatters very easily.
Also, TRD makes three body kits. They offer the TRD mechanical kit(which is what you get when you order the "action package", the TRD elegant kit, and the TRD M kit which is a factory bodykit option only available in Japan, kind of like our "action package".

Hey, I'm looking at the action package on the Celica I plan to buy in a few months. I want to drop down the suspension with either the TRD of Hotchkis Springs, but I'm worried about the ground clearance.
My friends who mostly work on Z's, think that it would look good but not actually be driveable where I live in Louisville, Ky.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

TRD springs are more of an actual performance minded drop, so they don't lower the car that much. I'm sure that you would be just fine with an action package and a set of TRD springs(or TRD spring equivalent). I have never heard of anyone ever complaining about scraping with the TRD kit and springs.
