grindin gears

welp took my car it today to get the gears checked its been grindin when i down shift from 3 -2 .. and of course they couldnt duplicate the problem .. soo well i take a tech for a ride .. he drives the car actually .. and right off the bat hes drivin it liek a celica should be drivin im like heck ya .. he goes to down shift and KLAAAANK .. . he was all oh well maybe there is a problem .. so they are gonna tear it apart on monday .. .. but said if it ends up bein my problem its gonna cost 1100 dollars dang it....
its been grindin for the last 30 000 miles i have had it in twice with receipts that say could not duplicate this problem .. soo we will see what happens .. and i have had the syncros replaced b 4 at about 20 000 miles

im gettin dis checked monday too..... any shift from 3-5-4-1 to 2nd grinds..i have to shift almost for 3-4 seconds to land it smoothely

sometimes i grind my gears pretty bad from 2nd to third...i gotta take it easy...

Mine grinds in second at high rpm, i took to the dearship and they said there nothing worng with it, your shiftin in to high of an rpm. HE said second is only parkin lot speed my a$$. BUt you just have to shift perfect to get it in the gear. I mean Perfect!!! aND if it does grind, force in there cuz might as well just just going to get worse.

well i betcha if u downshift from 3 rd to second it will grind mine did and it also grinds at hi rpm

mine grinds in every rpm, from 3k-7k, so im sure they cant tell me its too high of s shift. its in the dealer since 7 30 am this morning,

welp looks like toyota is workin in record time they said they expect to have it finished by thursday afternoon :)

got it fixed underwarranty second gear was scarred along with the syncros ..... they tell u the estimate to scare u away i think

You're lucky. Had grinding in the 1-2 shift, brought it in to the dealer 2-3 x's, and they couldn't duplicate... the problem corrected itself :rolleyes:
