i had the original tires on my GT set to 29 psi..the psi recommended by the door sticker. I got new tires Yokohama Avid 205/55VR15
they have a smaller sidewall...should I still use 29 psi? The shop that put them on had them filled to 34 or 35.....that is too much since max tire pressure is 35! My old stock tires were always filled with 29 psi (door sill recomended for stock tires) and they wore out in the center....they say from overinflation...i think they were just old (40k miles) I don't want to ruin my new tires like that ...is 29 still a good pressure?

35 is probably too high. That's pressure is for maximum load. Since our cars are fairly light, you can probably stick with 29lbs. Check the tire wear. If you are wearing out the edges, then you're underinflating. If you wear out the middle, then you're overinflating.

Of course this is all assuming you have balanced tires and a good alignment. ;)
