audio setup question

i have stock gt-s sound, with a sub and a mono amplifier for the sub. However i dont like sound coming from stock speakers, and bass is overhelming. Should i go with a deck, with a built amplifier and use it to drive front speakers, and use stock amplifier for the rear, or other way around. Or should i change the front speakers, and not get a stock a deck with built in amplifier. lets say i have 500 dollars to spend. What will be the first step to noticable sound quality from stock system with a sub?

if the bass is overwhelming, then turn down the gain on your amp. Use ur ears and match it up to what suits u. I would definitley get a new deck cause for me i'm never happy with the stock deck. Plus it will provide u with more options and more power depending on which one u buy.
