I'm installing my head unit, but still currently waiting on my harness to come in the mail. Some questions i have before installing it:
1. the Blue/White wire states that it is (amplifier turn-on lead) - Connect to remote turn-on lead of amplifier.
where exactly does that go? this is coming from my Head Unit (Clarion)
2. Orange/White wire says (illumination lead) - connect it to the car power supply terminal for illumintation.
what is this talking about?
3. Blue wire states (Auto antenna lead) - Connect it to the car power supply terminal for the antenna.
please help me. Thanks in advance.
ALSO, i got this from the install section:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Caps are main color followed by stripe.
HEAD UNIT
GRAY w/silver dots 12V ACC
BLUE w/yellow stripe 12V Constant
WHITE w/green dimmer
WHITE sig left front
YELLOW sig left rear
RED sig right front
BLUE sig right rear
GRAY/shrink sig shield (all)
(You could use the factory amp if your head unit is underpowered and has pre-amp outputs. I didn't try this.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHITE w/green dimmer. - what's that for?
GRAY/shrink sig shield (all) - what does that mean?
sorry, i'm really new to the audio section. I just wanna learn Thanks again.

1. blue/white - this is called the remote wire. If you have an amp then you would connect this wire to the amp so your head unit turns on the amo.
2. orange/white - illumination wire. Connect this to the illumination wire and not the power supply. You dont want the illumination to stay on constantly. When you connect this wire, it illuminates when you turn on your headlights.
3.Blue - power antenna. Celica's dont have a power antenna so this is not needed. Unless you built a power antenna.
Installing a head unit is a breeze. its pretty much just matching up the colors.

The only thing is, the illumination wire actually dims your head unit at night. Some units, especially Clarion's, are very bright during the day. When you send power to the illumination wire, the unit will dim (slightly). This helps so the deck doesn't blind you at night.

"Sig" is "signal. Basically the GT-S/Premium decks don't have a built-in amp, so they have RCA outputs on the back. Well, the signal is what would be on an RCA, but the connectors aren't there. The white, yellow, red, and blue wires are the positive signals on the RCA wires, while the gray wire provides the grounding. On an RCA, the center pin is positive, and the outside ring is ground.

deng...thank you soo much curt....You da man. I ordered the scosche harness and it does have the RCA outputs. I'm just waiting on it rite now. I just wanna know what each and every wire does before i start wiring it together. Thanks.
One more question, the black wire on the stock Wire harness is the ground rite? Can i ground my tv tuner and LCD to that?

Sure, you can if you want. I would recommend running a new ground, though. It's always nice to have a new, more solid ground wire. If you have wire, run a new ground to another factory ground. There is one on the drivers side above the kick panel. With a new, solid ground, you will make sure you won't get alternator whine from a bad ground.
