Just a short notice to all site users, asking those so inclined, to give a little more thought before posting in these forums with the sole intent of "flaming" another user or group of users. Or posting with the sole intent of instigating or illiciting flame type replies in any forum, Off Topic included. It can't help but be noticed the increase in this type of activity on the board lately, and this seriously detracts from the intended purpose of these forums - to bring together a community of automotive enthusiasts to a place where the free exchange of intelligent discussion is the goal. The first and foremost ideal in obtaining this result is simple, mutual respect!
It's well understood there are many members, from many different backgrounds, with many differing interests, using these forums. That's a good thing. And because of this, it is also well understood that there will be many differing viewpoints on many topics, not the least among them being things automotive. What should lead from this though is thoughtful debate, not mindless, childlish, flaming. Such latter behavior will no longer be tolerated here. Disagree with someone's posting? Sure, go ahead and argue your point, but by engaging your brain before letting your fingers at the keyboard. Disagree with someone on a more personal basis? Take it to PM or email.

(Preface: I've been a lurker on these boards for quite a while now, having bought my Celica June 26, 2001. I finally registered here today.)
I agree wholeheartedly.
Alongside the intelligence required to recognize mutual respect on these boards, it would be fantastic if certain posters put more thought into the content of their posts. Subject lines like "URGENT...PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", are annoying az r posts that r riddled wit speling mistakes.
A few simple reminders (having been a member of dozens of forums for programming languages, cars, chess, etc.):
1.) Use your subject line to succinctly describe your problem; if winter weather got the best of you, and you slammed into a curb "Fixing a scratched rim" would probably be more useful than "URGENT!!!!!!!!!PLZ READ!!!!!!!!!!". (Again, I don't mean that subject example to single anyone out, it's just the only idea that came to mind at the moment).
2.) In your posts, be slightly more cognizant of your spelling, and feel free to take the extra 0.8 seconds it takes to type "you" instead of "u", and "are" instead of "r".
We're not writing formal essays for every post here, but I don't think there are many that would disagree with me when I say that following the few suggestions I've made in this post will make this forum more interesting and educational for everyone here.

Applause
I hate it when peeps flame the newbies on this board, for example when they ask what a BOV or CEL is. People just post pics of things making fun of him or they put in some stupid phrase and jokingly tell him the wrong answer , not knowing he might actually belive him.
Peeps quit being asses like when some people post there pic of there car and lets just say it had a APR wing on it. You will get like 6 peeps complaining on the wing ... then 8 more hating the people who hate the wing, then more complain on the wing again.
I mean peeps come on Quit making this board a fighting zone and start critisizing in a more creative(not making it harsh) way.
Kinda like that the kit of this would go great with this .... have you seen these combinations yet? heres the pic at ---
Not trying to be a hippie peace maker here lol not me on in the military ... but making it more informal and interesting with bringing up new ideas.

Why flame someone? Answer that question to yourself and then you truely know how pointless it is.
1. You arn't proving your point or any other point for that matter
2. You just fill the boards with usless opions that have nothing to do with the subject and offer no intelligent opion and/or facts
3. Truthfully, :whogives:
4. Telling someone off, if thats what you wana do, on the internet makes you bigger? to me it just degrades your standings in someones opion.
5. Ask anyone, this board use to be alot better, just people sharing info and making there cars faster and hotter. Not wasting a persons time reading some retarded comment on how this was a bad idea and just flamming someones car or mod idea? If it has some intelligents behind it or some facts that would help that person, good but just wasting your time and everyones elses is more than enough.
6. Just look up the word forum for all who chose to slowly destroy our boards.
Just my .02 cents and comments on the resent rise in flame. And hopefully bring the amount down. I didn't mean to start a flame war but many people will undoubtly respond in that manner. I would just like our boards back, thank you for your time.
