Launching your car depends on whether you have a manuel or an auto. If you have a manual, you rev the rpm's high and release the clutch. This will spin the tires and then catch to speed you off. If you have an auto(like me) there is no safe way to do that. The only way that you could do a hard launch is to put it into neutral and rev the engine and the put it into drive but that is only if you want to kill the tranny. Hope that answers it.

i used to let it sit high in the rpm's on the jump but keep hitting the rev limiter. is that bad to hit the rev limiter?? anyways...now i kinda take around 4 to 5 and i don't floor it until the tired catch the ground and then hit it. anybody can give their opinions??

on the street i rev to 3500rpm, slip the clutch and then left off totally and nail the gas. at the track i have a problem with spinning bad so im not that great at getting off the line there. but i rev to 4000rpm and the slip quickly and the dump, result sitting there for a second, and putting on a show for the people... eheh oh well....

what i do to launch my auto is to power brake. Basically I step on the brake to the point where the car won't move when i gas it to about 2200rpm and when the green light shows I let go of the brake and nail the gas. i usually get a good tire slip then instant traction.

This is better then revving the car in neutral cause all it really kills is our brakes. brake repair is much cheaper then tranny repair.

I agree with EddieKP012 because at about 2000-2200 rpms the car isnt really moving because this is the stall limit. You could get this higher with a better torque controller. It does minimal damage to the brakes.
