:)

i did a search and didn't find that thread. thanks! it was helpful
i knew that the boost and egt guages were important.

what about all those other guages: gas temp, water temp, oil temp, intake temp, air/fuel ratio, etc...?

No to the other gauges, they are not necesary unless you are building a full race car.

EGT and Boost are the most important guages

Hay Smaay how high have your EGT gauge got? Like whats the hardest run and the highest temp your EGT ever got??
Where did you mount the probe? Hottest pipe or come together of the pipes? I would like some info regarding these for Celica since you are one of the few that has boosted celicas and i know you have pyrometer (EGT) you would be able to tell me :D
jdm2zz if you can tell me this info on your car it would be great too, oh! Lets not forget Jersey Jay :) Keyshawn if you have your info that would be great as well :D
As for mine, I am not sure where my EGT probe is mounted but mine the hottest it has ever got is 1400 degrees F. But lately its always around 1000~1200 degrees F.

My EGT is mounted about 2 inches after the turbo. there was no place to install it in the manifold before the turbo. my temp range is the same as yours. about 1200-1300 degrees. that might be a little hot cause its after the turbo. but this is that XS told me to expect. hope that helps.

Oil Pressure is very helpful as well for our cars.

Found some very good prices on Defi BF gauges!

http://www.splparts.com/Universal/Misc/Gauge.asp

Haven't ever heard of the company, but then again. I live in Europe and I haven't really been into cars since a year.

Hope this link is usefull ^_^

The one thing to watch out for with the autometer EGT gauge, the probe sucks. A while back a DSM guy here mentioned how people had problems with the tips breaking off and getting sucked into their turbos if they mounted theirs pre-turbine, well it turns out to be true.

If you want a truely killer probe at a great price, check out TRE's. I'm sure any of the DSMers that browse the board here would agree with me also.

Something besides autometer, maybe alittle more flashy, nicer looking? Also with some features.
