GST vs S/C GSR

not much of a race.. my buddy has a S/C GSR.. he used to have the s/c on his black GSR but he just bought a newer red GSR and he put the s/c on this one and he wanted to test it out. the black one was turning around 13.5 @ 103 if I remember correctly.. well anyhow we did a couple runs tonight.. from a 2nd gear roll at about 30mph I pulled away from him right away as the boost kicked in fast but he managed to catch me by about 90 and pull in front.. then we turned around and caught a light.. now mind you I suck at launching :).. light turns green and I blip the throttle a couple times trying to get traction but its useless as the car just spins. i let off the gas completely and tap it back to about 1/4 throttle and finally get the car moving.. he is about 1/4 car in front of me now and I pop it in 2nd and make up the lost ground from the **** launch.. we are approchcing 70mph and he starts pullign gruond on me again as Im now in 3rd gear and losing power.. I let off at around 80ish when he was about 2 cars in front of me.. DOH.. hehe.. he told me he thinks I have a 13 second car for sure.. man do i miss my top end.. I am dying to get this new turbo to start winning some of these close races..heeh :)

No but in all seriousness those are quick i raced a sc'ed gsr in my civic,
I have/had
93 hatch vx with a b18c1 with type r internals and a b16a tranny, aem cai, dc sport headers and a cai, so it was a quick little car, and the gs-r beat me by about a car or so.

Heh, join the crowd my man! ;) Question...how come you went with a GS-T instead of a GSX or Tsi AWD model? Just curious what the pluses/minuses are...a dealer I know outside of Lancaster has two of these cars up for sale that I could get a good deal on, here are the links:

well with the loan i was pre-approved for through eloans.com I had to purhcase the car from a franchised dealer meaning that it had to be like a toyota, honda, nissan dealership.. something like that and the only GSX's I could find anywhere around were not at those kind of dealers.. I spent two weeks looking for a GSX while also trying to work out a deal on an 00 Celica GTS but it fell through.. so on my way home from looking at a GSX i found my car and bought it that day :)

not sure on everything but the s/c is jackson racing.. and he has an exhaust.. not sure what else though..

JRSC, DC Sports 4-2-1 headers, Carsound Cat and Greddy exhaust. AEM short ram intake and Underdrive pulley on the PS pump.

I feel the same way after selling the Type R. Oh well right? Then again, maybe we just dont notice them trying to get our attention since we're so far ahead of everybody. ;)

Ah, I see, what a crappy limitation. I went thru peoplefirst.com, better rates and no limits there, you can buy from anyone you want, even a private party! Probably go thru them again next time around as well. Gotta have good credit though. Any particular years of the 2nd gen DSM's to stay away from?

yeah i tried peoplefirst and got turned down :(.. ofcourse i didnt have a job at the time so I was claiming self employed :)..hehe.. as for the DSMs.. all the 2nd gens are plagued with the possability of crankwalk.. so 95-99.. it was rumored that they fixed it in 99, but Ive heard of 99s that have crankwalked as well.. so who knows..

Should of bought an all-trac. LOL Repairs are costly but the motors are bullet proof! Only problem is the plastics in the engine bay are usually brittle and fall apart by now. :) Man I need to get some cash so I can play!!!
