Will have it within a few weeks.
No I am not getting selling the Celica. best car I've ever owned. The transmission is so smooth esp love the clutch. My little bro is now the possessor of it, he better be good to it!
I was going to help buy my bro a used car but figured I might as well upgrade to a sedan and all wheel drive for the winters down here in MO.

haha I'm not getting an STi just the regular one.
You can't get the STi for close to invoice at all still so too much for me.

no used cuz I really don't know if the car is broken in correctly.
Also the wrx tranny is prety weak, and people just love to drop the clutch on it at high rpms for that awd launch.
I have to get one with less than 15 miles on it and break it in myself :D

Also, the WRX tranny was weak in the 02 versions. 03 and 04's have a special valve in it that when you drop the clutch it somehow rengages it to stop damage. You cant do drop clutch launches in new WRX's.

yes, the 02 tranny is a POS, but my buddy has an 03 and the valve feathers the clutch for him. he gets some bomb launchs

oh I didnt know they fixed the 03 and 04 trannies nice!
what exhaust do you got? I am likeing the HKS exhaust that is sorta dark and comes out at an angle :D

HKS exhaust is no good.

kit99bar, matt's exhaust is REALLY nice and the price is right man!
It is not as loud as the blitz racing exhaust that I have and it makes the same power. Turbo performance shootout tested it at around 15hp and 15lbs/tq :) buy it hehe

Congrates on your future purchase. I went up to the scooby dealers and looked at some. The 04's look ALOT better in person than on paper. I still don't like the STI's wing but the WRX looks pretty nice.

What's freaky is that the Forester XT (the new turbo model) is supposed to be faster than the WRX, and is quite a bit bigger.

It's quite a bit taller, not bigger - they weigh the same.
As for the Car and Driver test, either the power output is underrated, they accidentally put the complete WRX STi motor in there, or they did the tests downhill, because the numbers were pretty goddamn low, even with hard AWD launches.

Hey why did they not put in a radio or cd player or speakers in the sti is it because it was to heavy?

The Exhaust is a Special Order from Japan... Cost me around 650 bucks. Just as powerful as the Nur Spec R, without all that racket :D

One of the mags I recently read said it was to keep weight down so that it would get better fuel economy and comply with some standards.

how should you launch it so there is no damage to anything?
juss changed to an ACT street clutch and DO NOT wanna burn this one. hehe..

First, congrats on the WRX man....awesome car. Am 'officially' selling mine in 3 hours :-(. Anyway, of the top of my head, here are the changes for 04 WRX....
1. New front end (New headlights, foglights, hood, and hoodscoop) Also rear taillights are different - they actually have a little dip right underneath the light that goes into the rear bumper. The 2002-03 did not have this.
2. Interior changes - Center mounted tachometer (gotta love it) and red and black (instead of yellow and black) "momo" emblem on steering wheel. The seats are slightly different (I think).
3. Optional sunroof (Good for pimping, bad for performance)
RedGSR, since it sounds like you are new the 'Rex scene (you just got yours!) feel free to PM me with any questions about after-market 'go fast' parts and where to get the best prices.

How much impact has the STi had on the "regular" WRX prices?
Dealers around here are selling the STi's for full MSRP. Some in Denver are trying for $3K+ over MSRP.
BTW, congrats on the WRX!

I sell Subaru and Mazdas in Ramsey NJ. The STI is a big jump over a standard WRX but when you drive it you see where the money went. You cant even compare the two cars. Regular WRX is best bang for the buck out there though. I sold my first STI for 2500 over sticker and the last one at full sticker price. We have a blue with gold wheels and Silver with silver at sticker price available if anyone is interested. I am in NJ by the way.

The new wrx is 200% better looking than the old one. The old wrx is like a girl who starts to look good after you spend a lot of time with her and get to know her, while your friends see her for the first time and think, "God, she's an ugly looking thing!"
well unfortunately I am in disagreement.... something about the new headlights/fogs, just doesn't sit well with me..... I don't know
