Well gota give props to this new site. Well the question is "has anyone heard of the pactell system?" they say that it is a monitoring system and its compatable with our cars and they also say that it could be used as a vvlt-i controller. Could this be true?

You're talking about World Racing's Drag Celica, right?

Because my impression of the PacTell stand-alone engine management they're using was that it's strictly a race-only computer, presumeably it doesn't pass emissions, gets atrocious gas mileage, require you replace all the sensors, etc.

However, there are programmable ECU replacements that are intended for street use, such as the A'PEXi Power FC (not yet available for US 2ZZGE :() and AEM EMS (mostly available for Hondas :rolleyes: ). These ECUs are comparatively easy to install, because they still use your stock sensors.
