I want to paint my calipers and want them dark blue. I already got some engine paint and painted them but it looks like crap. I want the foliatec kind that I know will do a good job and last a long time. The only problem is thier blue is a light blue and clashes with my spectra blue color. I thought about silver but I really want blue. PaCelicaGTS has pics that show his calipers to be dark blue. Any info?

Just a thought but instead of buying Caliper paint, look at getting a high temp paint( 900 degrees or higher) and putting a gloss on them. Some places sell paint specifically for Calipers, but there is usually a wider selection of colors in the high temp paint section.

The engine paint was high temp paint and it just doesn't stick very well. It was spotty even after 3 coats. I want the good stuff that you have to mix.

if you get your kit painted from my guy, he can probably give you a little container of the same color for free, or one of a different color for a little more. i know it's not made for calipers, but my friend used the same type of paint on his accord's calipers (did them last summer) and they still look good. just a thought though...

I'm surprised that regular car paint has lasted a year on your friends Accord, he must go really easy on the brakes all the time. I think that you would be surprised how hot a brake caliper gets. If you never brake very hard, skatamatic's friend is proof that you can just paint your brake caliper's with spec. blue paint. I would reccomend the same thing every one else is, however, which is using a high temp. paint on your calipers.

That was a good suggestion on the hard nose paint but it is still the lighter blue. I could mix the black and blue I guess to darken it but I'd have a lot of paint left over. Maybe I'll just have to go with silver.

what about the G2 caliper paint? they have a more solid blue color, definitely darker than the folia tec. altho its not dark like a navy blue color.

yeah, the gt2 is the stuff im getting on the group buy. It still isnt dark enough to fit in on my spectra blue mica car. It is just too dark blue of a car to try and match blue calipers on unless they are dark blue. They would stick out pretty bad. I think I m stuck with silver. I could buy both black and blue to maka a dark blue but it'd be gettin pretty pricey.....
