Has anyone here removed the butterfly valve? If so did you do it or did a mechanic? If you did it, how hard was it on a 1 - 10 scale. Thanks! Also, anyone going to the Talladega track event? I think I am going. just checking. Thanks guys!

That was the first thing I did, on a 1-10 scale it was a 1 all you need to do is open your air box, disconect the hose that runs to the buterfly pull the butterfly out put a screw in the whole of the hose that was connected to the buterfly and put a tie wrap on the whose so you don't lose it, I think mostly everyone here has pulled their's or has a CAI, It is worth it because the engine sounds a lot louder,

As for Talladega I will be missing it because I am having my wisdom teeth pulled the day before, I know a few people who went last year and said it was a blast,

Yeah, really easy like he said. The sound alone is worth it, and there are slight performance benefits.

You going to the meet Saturday? I don't think a time or place has been decided yet but they are always fun. Check the other posts in the southeast for more info.

Thanks Guys. I just finished about 30 mins ago. I came home from school and was just fooling around with the car and decided to go ahead and remove the butterfly valve. It took about an hour and a half, which I know is long, but this was my first engine mod and I did it all by myself. It sounds soooo much better in my opinion. I love it. thanks!

glad to see you got it worked out. it's fun trying to learn your way around the engine and learn how to do stuff on your own, i'm still in that phase for a lot of stuff. haven't really paid much attention to the sound with it changed, but i bet it is much better. however, just wait til you get a CAI, it's amazing when you first hit lift with one of those.

I'm with you on the mods to come when the money does, I've been hit left and right with crap (that speeding ticket hit me up for $250 - - - which was $50 under since I went to court) so I haven't been able to do a thing to mine. Though hopefully I'll driveby a Honda dealership and pick up an antenna tonite or tomorrow.

It took us two minutes to take out Lester's butterfly valve.

Since you have the butterfly removed, do you wanna bye a K&N filter off of me for $20?
