sportshift or 6spd?..
6spd is more xpensive than sportshift......if its 6spd, then thas an awesome deal for the options yor getting with it....
i paid 23K for my 6spd....no: leather, side airbags, cf dash, alarm, or auto-dim mirrors....

Actually the sportshift auto is cheaper than the "standard" hence the name "standard."

good luck trying to find a gts 6 speed. toyota gives 1-2 6 speeds a month to every dealership don't know why. and people please don't say because of the mis-shifts. it's always been like that from the very beginning since the car came out. every dealership has always had 1 gts 6 speed a month. the auto to 6 speed ratio for the month is 2 to 1. they always get more gt than gts.
the carbon fiber and the auto dimming mirror might be hard, but you can always get that installed.

Do you guys even have a Celica or know a damn thing about the car? A sportshift costs more than a 6sp. Go look at edmunds.com or toyota.com or better yet, you're local dealership. The sportshift option costs about $700 or so more.
Well Dave, $22,600 ain't a bad price for a 6sp. I bet they would go a little lower, actually I think I got my car at invoice. Don't worry the dealership will still make money off your car if they sell it at invoice.
16 inch wheel upgrade
I know this doesn't help anybody out here, but the 16" wheel upgrade was listed as $60.00. So far every GTS I've ever seen has came with them anyways....

sup guys..
RADR1732: isnt that what i said?: the gts 6spd costs more than the gts auto...= the gts auto is cheaper than the 6spd
hilfiger, you sure?....when i was lookin around for a brand new cel earlier last year, the 6spd was most expensive of all the celica models: gts auto, and gt's....with the same options...
this stuck out in my head...and i thought it was cuz of the 6 gears...
whatever the case, 22.6 is a better deal than i got..plus more options...
thanx

uhh.. i have no clue what dealer you guys go to, but the auto-sportshift was a $1200 upgrade to the 6-speed.
I got my 6-spd last year for i believe 21k. w/ tax -> 23k + 550ish for alarm system.. so about 23550 after everythign was settled.
i got leather seats / sunroof (standard i believe) / 16" / some other option that wasn't really my choice
then again, my parents have been shopping at that toyota ever since i was 4 so we got a pretty good deal on that car.
they made a ton of $ off me though.. i think they got the car for around 18k *shrug*... i got it for a bit over invoice which is i believe 20,700 or sometihng around that number

Not mine. I bought mine used and the guy who had it before me didn't upgrade from the stock 15's

Wow! It sounds like I got ripped. My invoice came to 24,550 fully loaded. I bought mine two months before the action package came out. If I were you I try to find the act pac. Since toyota isn't making them anymore It'll be a collectable.

i think the best thing to do is to find a lightly used gts 6sp.
i got my 2000 celi last year with 13 k for 20,000 out the door all options.
problem with the 2002 celica gt-s is that the rev limiter is set at 7800 rpms (aposed to the 8300 rpms on the 00 and 01 modles)makeing it imposible to land your 1-2 shift in lift with out power shifting.
i would check autotrader.com you should come across somthing soon

i payed around 24500 out the door for my 02 gts 6 speed which came with anti lock airbags floormats auto dim mirror action package 16 inch rims and some other things i prob left out... but i think it was a good deal cars.com usually says 22000 invoice w/ ure options which would prob come to 24000 msrp so if a dealership takes 400 over invoice including tax+license u should be able to get one with those options for roughly 24000 out the door

If your car is on the lot don't pay more than 22,862 for it. Which sould leave you just under 25,000 after tax and licence. That's
the average of all final sales so says Edmunds. I just ordered my
car today for 24,197 fully loaded minus action package but the dealer had to trade out of their area for it so I am paying 1,335
more than I should. That's 26,351 out the door but I have to get rid of my old car before it falls apart so I'm alright with it.

What have you been smoking at the time that you saw a 6 speed of the same model year costing more then an auto? All the MSRPs I've seen quote the 6speed about 1-2 grand less then the sportshift

Did Toyota really discontinue the action package, I was just at my local dealership and they had two action packed Celicas there. Who knows??

I'm pretty sure that Toyota didn't discontinue the Action Package since it was introduced in the '02 models and the model year isn't even up yet.

What area did you buy the car from? my invoice was just under 25k also. I think i ended up paying about 400 over invoice after it was all said and done, so if you got ripped off, so did I :)
I dont really care anymore, I have the car I wanted and it was the only one around soooo
I had a hell of a time finding a gts too. every dealer had buttloads of gt' and auto gts, but no manuals. So I think thats part of the reason why I paid so much :(

Ya i got my 2002 GT-S 6 spd w/ EVERYTHING except leather.
I even have the side beams on my car ... some peeps dont like em but i love em protect my door wise and i think makes look more agressive!;) I cant tell you how many times ive seen it save my ass and my car now (knock on wood) is dent free and flawless. I even have the pinstriping wich i am having taken off when i get my TRD rear valence painted monday. $10 ... he said and he'll buff out the residue , i said good deal. All i need now is HOTCHKIS suspension, and im done in the looks/handeling department. I sold my TRD suspension like last week now that i heard about the hotchkis suspension.
Good luck with the vehicle DRIVE SAFE ... AND ENJOY.

any manual shift car is always less because a automatic is a upgrade more luxery.
Bought my 2002 6-speed GTS for $24,500 out the door. No sunroof, no abs, no alarm, and fabric seats.

MOROONNNNNNNSSSS the sporshift is more expensive than the 6spd... DONT YALL EVER READ SH*T about YOUR CARS BEFORE YALL BUY THEM... hahaha j/k... no but really the sportshift is a bit more expensive i know this because i bought one..then traded it in for the 6spd.... if the sticker price is like 24,500 you can get that car for 22,500 w/taxes TRUSTTT MEEEEEEEE i got mine (25,875) for 23,500 w/taxes hehehe took about 3 hours of verbal warfare though.... just make sure the first thing you say to the salesman is "hey... i came here to buy a car today...its up to you wether you want to sell it to me or not!!!..."... and lets say you got it lowered to where you want it..after signing try to get like 2 or 3 free oil changes and a cargo net... shift knob etc....

i think the supra was the only toyota where the 6spd was more expensive than the auto
unless you bring up the new SMT of the MRS... by the way are they still offering a regular auto in addition to the SMT??
