Hi. I'm probably going to buy a Celica because It's one of the coolest and quality car that Toyota's manufacturing.(TOyotas are the best cars(no problems with cars(nearly perfect)) and also because I think it's soooo cool looking, fast, VVTL-i engine(which takes V-TEC to shame), interior looks like an airplane cockpit, Coolest style ever, clean, 6 speed GTS.
Until what year are they going to manufacture this model of Celica?
until 2004? or something?
I currently have a 93 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. It's got 195 hp stock with 203 torque. Do you think Celica will be better than this car?
It's a turbo.. should I get a Celica or a WRX?( I like Toyotas hella lot though)

the Celica is a great car.. it was mnfgrd in 00 and is rumored to be up for a redesign in 04.. no one knows for sure though..
your current car is faster in stock trim then the Celica but obviously the build quality of a newer 00+ car should be more reliable.. on WRX or Celica, that choice is yers :)

That's not called for.
Sorry but Larry speaks the truth, maybe a year ago he was clouded by the fact he owned a Celica.

What? He stated a fact, not an opinion.

wrx and celica gts are the 2 cars im debating over right now. and i got it down to this. if i want all speed, i will go for the wrx. but god knows the wrx is one ugly mother Fawker. if i wanted looks, and limited aftermarket products, then i will go for the celica gts.
sexy car and will get the head turns. but wrx is still one fast car.

my thought is this:
if you want a car that's got performance up the wazoo and really isn't ugly but some people say it is so everyone else jumps the bandwagon and agree, then get the WRX. if i could, i'd trade in my GTS for a WRX (mainly because it's so much nicer to drive up mountains with)...
if you want a stylin car that handles takes turns incredibly well and is a beauty for daily driving, the GTS is your choice.
However, objectively, I would consider any of the VW 1.8Ts also. FWD + turbo + great aftermarket. Imo, I think the GTi or Golf's look great (that's why they haven't changed the look for 20sh years)... but that's just my .02. i also think the WRX is a nice looking car...
OH! but of course, if you can get your hands on a supra! AH HAH! don't even think about the above choices... supras are dreamy ... *drool*

Great car, only complaints I have:
Back seat/area is way too small to fit even average size adults. (*I drive most of the time with just me and my girl but I did wish the back was bigger*)
Plastic inside interior scratches too easily.
No power Antenna
Besides this, EXCELLENT car.

Just don't jump on the bandwagon and get a RSX.... then we just might have to kill you! hehehe

what's wrong with RSX?
Is it slower than GTS?
I don't think WRX is ugly.
Honestly, 2000 2.5RS was better looking though

I would definately have to agree w/ you on the "plastic inside interior scratches too easily."
BTW, if you want a celi, buy mine it is a great deal!!!:)

Hey, WRX's may be ugly stock, but all it takes is a little bit of modification. If you want inspiration, check out the WRX on this month's Import Tuner. That is one nice looking car.

A Dub should be considered too.
GTI 1.8 comes with a nice 180hp 1.8T stock.
The $300 chip will throw you over 210hp and 220+ lbs/ft.
The new model comes with cool 17' wheels and the interior is ... well, German feel. However, they have some reliability issues.
A friend of mine gave me a ride in a chipped 1.8t. The peak torque is below 2k rpms and stays flat up untill 5k or something ... usable rpm range torque, let's put it this way. It was kind of porky in the corners tho' :) But this should be easily fixable with huge aftermarket support.
Good luck

mecca - i wouldn't go w/ the RSX-S / Mustang / Camaro Z-28
reasons for each: RSX-S (it's a neat little car, but the drive on the celi just feels much better personally)
Mustang / Camaro - you'll get a lot of power for your performance, but it'll cost you in gas. The $ you spend on gas is going to kill you. Gotta think about all the little nitty gritty costs like that =)...
Cars I would consider:
GTi - it's awesome to see a FWD car record 12s in the 1/4.. have yet to see a GT-S do it, but who knows... :) Great aftermarket + easy power mods!
WRX - as i said b4, best all-around performing car for under 25k + it's not a 8-cyl car so :) :)... that and Subraru's boxter-type engine just rules all =)... sure it may be a while to get a great aftermarket.. but hey, it's coming! but if you really wnat a car like this, wait a year and get a Lancer Evo 7.. looks great and comes with a great punch stock!
if you want a car with intentions of modifying your car - buy a used Supra TT. I would suggest an RX7 Touring, but I've heard some horror stories about people who don't treat their 7s right :(... lots of problems in maintenance of those rotary engines, but hey! gotta pay a price for power + style :)...

What are the expectations on the evo 7? I don't really like the lines on that car though.
