All,

I hunted through the entire website for some info on this, but didn't have any luck.

So, here's the deal: I will be receiving my new Celica (143 bhp version) on may 15, as indicated on another post of mine. However, I am heading to the Nurburgring circuit in germany for a two-day driving event on May 25.

Obviously, I am concerned about the short period of time I have to break the car in properly before the event takes place (I have to go as I organized it! woe is me...). I don't want to fry the car, so, knowledgeable members: what is the best way to break in a 2002 Celica? All info including mileage needed, driving style to be used, etc would be greatly appreciated....

Given current technology, I just have no idea how much you have to baby the engine before you can start to stretch it a little...

my thanks to you all,

Eric.

There are two schools of thought on the subject. Do it strictly by the manual which gives you all the detail that you need or break it in like it will be driven. I personally subscribe to the latter but do try to avoid keeping the motor at the same RPM for extended periods for the first 500 miles.

sup guys....

also keep the rpm's under 4k.....

for vw's, dont go above two-thirds of yor max speed...you could do that also...

dont use cruise control...

well, what me and couple buddies do, is we take a slim jim to the passenger side door and pop the lock.if that doesnt work, well break the rear hatch glass and go in through there..although sometimes well just put the car on a flatbed and tow it away.

it works about..oh..95% the time too...so thats how i recommend breakin in the enw celica..passenger door all teh way baby...driver wont even notice it at first!
