My buddy Paul and I are at work finishing up a rack & cabling job in the server farm. I jump in my Celica and he gets in the company's V8 powered van of doom. Basically looks like a ryder truck haha.

I am driving behind him and we turn onto a two-lane road. I rev up and match his speed... gave him a nasty scowl and revved it up at him. Much to my surprise he gets up on it! OH **** V8 powah! I lay on it and I pull a few car lengths on him ... tite! Of course I make sure to call him on the cell phone and make fun of him. I'm like, "dude I was in 5th gear with the air conditioner on full blast.. you still couldn't win?"

its got some extreme potential.

I can't wait to see what kinda crazy stuff is in its future.

all it takes is some superhuman driving skill and good conditions.

play with tire pressure.

Well i was running 15's with my 17 inch rims with a super low profile tire fully inflated, before i had some work i have done on it now. i know its possible to do it, on the stock 15's with like 20psi i dont see why it won't hit low 15's in the 1/4. if you launch it right, you can get some quick traction prolly within 2000rpm's. i run 2.3 60' times, i think maelfin said he had 2.2 60' times. there arent many of us good GT drivers. i think i may go pick up my 15's when i go home later! he he.

its so pathetic that you posted about beating a work van. then you called the dude to brag. hey this one time i pulled up next to this old dude in his tractor and he gave me i rev so i put the clutch in and coasted by him. he didnt have a chance. dork

T's02ramair, you're new here, sit back and relax. If you'd looked more closely you'd have seen the post was more for laughs than to be serious. This is a pretty layed back place (most of the time LOL) and members try not to take themselves too seriously. Believe me, if someone puts up a pure bull**** story, it gets called on pretty quickly.

I saw that happen in a movie once.

If he has done it then he has done it. I don't see a reason why he would lie about a 15.0x Maybe to make things a little more believable for everyone here who don't think you can pull that time, get it on video.

Hey actually, that would be pretty cool. I was planning to get some nice 15" racing rims wrapped in BFGs but if that falls through for money reasons I'll gladly borrow yours for a few runs. I have a very hard time finding Volks, Advans, BBS, SSR, etc that fit our lug pattern. Looking for a rim less than 12 lbs.

Nonetheless a video would kick ass!

Hrm. I see a lot of Maryland people here. Cool. Where do you guys usually run? Reading some of the other boards, a lot of you Celica guys seem to run at Cecil County. I go to Capitol most often, but I don't see many Celicas there at all. Mostly domestics and Hondas. Haven't seen many at MIR either, but I've only run there a few times.
