Hey guys i was thinking of making a custom sub box for my celi (if you were at the january 5th long island in ny meet you know the red celis custom enclosure. But it has one problem it is realllllyyy heavy. I was thinking if i used stiff wire mesh (similar to grill material) as the supporting layer instead of foam i could make the entire box out of carbon fiber or fiberglass. I'm just wondering if there is anything i can do to prevent the thing from cracking. Like can i make the outer fiber flexable enough to sustain the vibration of subs and at the same time make it strong enough to support the equipment. I'm also thinking about using some sort of metal framing. I know its metal but should weigh les than the plywood used to create his box. hes gonna give me his box because he is doing another custom job. But if i can get this to work i wouldn't mind making these boxes for others (as a side business) Do you think a coating of polyurethane would help. Oh and if anyone has any knowlege on making carbon fiber pieces and can give me a few tips please pm me.

Thanks In Advance

are you talking about making a fiberglass box inside where the spare tire is? If so, all you need to do is cover that area up with plastic or tin foil and start laying fiberglass ( 8-10 layers).
