View Full Version : Skipping CD Player TSB?
I have the infamous skipping stock CD player thing and searched around and didn't see a TSB anywhere on this site. I could have sworn there was one. Anyone know where to find it?
DOH! I pulled a :newbie: I posted this in general. Oh hell, at least I'll get a quicker answer I guess than if I had posted in repairs and problems. :burnout:

So you think anyway. I dont recall there ever being a TSB for the CD player skipping was there? I know dealers have replaced them under warranty but I didnt know there was a TSB.
I went through 4 stock sterio's, some skipped with a new CD while the car was parked and the engine wasn't even running, others would play until they got too hot and then cut out, and so on. My last one died after the factory warrenty was up so I went and got a REAL head unit, a sony, and I've had no problems ever since. Ditch the factory unit it blows chunks.

That's what I am beginning to think. I'm not sure. I could have sworn there was one. Waayyyy back when I was still at Conicelli I ran into this problem and showed the service department "something" that prompted them to order another CD player. That "something" was either a TSB or something similar. I may have saved it at home. I'll check. Unfortunately the douche bag that ordered my CD player back then ordered one for a Camry or something and I never got the original replaced.

I would like to get a new one. But, I actually like how the stock system sounds. Plus, I have been posting in the audio forum for sometime now to learn about an aftermarket replacement and have discovered with the GT-S stereo system, it's a bitch to put an aftermarket one in...since there is the whole stock amp issue and then there is road noise through the speakers. Believe me, I would love to get a new head unit that plays MP3 CD's.

I got a sony one that plays MP3 CD's, i put all my mustic on 4 cd's now. I have a GT-S and I had to cut the wires and bypass the amp. It was a pain in the a$$ only because the wires were so short. I kept everything stock except for the head unit and it sounds great, better then stock.

i replaced my stock once. no tsb.
i have a JVC unit that can shut off its internal amp. that way i could have used the car's amp without extra wiring. although i discovered that after i hacked thru and bypassed the car's amp. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/mesg/emoticons/34.gif however.. the MP3 can skip. i've found a pioneer model to buffer MP3s so they wont skip, although it still skips audio CDs.
