Great Service Dept in MA

I brought my car in for the TSB - Belt Tensioner..car squeals like a pig on damp days in the morning...

Service guy quotes me 360 to fix it...cause my car is 4000 miles over warranty..sucks but i'll stomach it...

guy calls me back - "parts wrote down the wrong price on the belt, its 199, not 99 so its gonna be 100 bucks more to fix"

i told him forget it then..

he called me back and told me he doesnt think it was right of parts to do that so he convinced them to eat the 100 bucks an give it to me for the quoted price

classy..i feel i should give some good publicity in return...

That sucks that you had to pay for it but at least you saved $100. How far is Hanover from Boston?

exit 13 off route 3 south...hope on 93 south to route 3- bout 20-30 minutes south of boston I would say...its just south of braintree, quincy if you know those towns better

first you say that they quoted you $360 to fix cuz ur over warranty. then they called you and said that they made a mistake and wanted to charge u $199 (after he thought they quoted you $99)????

well thats cool u had to only pay $99!!! i wish my service dept was good like that. they have been awarded the #1 service dept in Mass 3 years in a row (2000-2002). But i definitely DONT see how they are #1 and i HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM (rddcelica agreed with me on this way back when he had a celica)! the place is 495 Toyota in Milford, MA. i wish there was a real good service dept near me that i could go to to fix all my new problems

1) he gets quoted $360 for parts and labor
2) they say one of the parts (probably the tensioner assembly) costs $199 NOT $99 as it said on his receipt
2a) ($199-$99=$100 mistake they've made)
3) service dept calls and says they've made a mistake, new price = $360 + $100 = $460
4) he tells them nevermind, forget it
5) service department calls back and says pay $360. we'll eat the $100 mistake

beyond that, guy i talked to was just really cool and nice to me, unusual since Im a 20 year old and my car has some modifications to it that would lead a service manager to believe that my car is modified and/or i drive it like an animal...clear corners, redded out tails and s2000 antenna and stuff...

Good deal my belt tensioner's been replaced and its going out again im getting the squealing on damp mornings like you said or while it rains.. and it takes a while to quiet them down were talking 2-3 days after rain.. im gonna keep driving it till it gets reallly really bad..
