One of my tires just got flat. The mechanic told me pushed the tire to the limit. I'm still on my stock tires and i had the car for 6 months. It has 13,000 miles on it.

damn, I have 15,5 and the tires are still fine, except the center treads are a little flat. You should be able to stretch these tires some 20k. I guess it depends on what driving you do (city, town)

I just bought new tires 2 days ago because I knew I wouldn't pass inspection without them. If you're tires can't grip a wet road on a regular-speed turn, there's a problem. I rotated them already, and the fronts are worn down pretty bad, which means the rears are even worse (since I rotated). I have no zig-zag diagonal tread left, just the deep grooves that go all the way around the tire. I think that's a good sign. I can't wait for these new ones though. Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Positions.

you could always do the ol' penny test to see if your tires are worn & need replacing. Put a penny with Abe LIncoln's head going in first, into a groove on the tire. If any part of Abe's head is showing, it's time to replace the tire :)

Totally different tires. The Yoko's that come on the 16" on the GT-S are a pretty soft compound. Mine lasted 15,000 until inspection. I was unaware the tires had such a low tread life until I installed the CAI, and noticed the front tire center tread was missing. I rotated htem shortly after, but, too little to late (that was at 9,00o or so miles).

When the wear-bars are just about flush with the surface of the tire. Look in the tread of the tire and you'll see bumps. Those are the wear-bars.
I replaced mine at 33K with Kumho 712 ECSTA Supras, my recommendation, they look nice but don't buy them, lots of wheel hop.
