I just wanna know how bored they were to even fathom the idea.

I stopped and bought a shorty-rubber antenna on my way home from the dealer.... I had the car 20 mins I think...
That was WAY before the S2000 was released...
Now instead of asking what the Butterfly is, it's who started it.
As was posted 1-2 months ago racinjason was close to the beginning (maybe someone @ celica.net was before)...I wouldn't describe it as being bored...if so then any mod for performance is a case of being bored?
as for the S2k....who the heck likes that lightning rod...it needed removal asap.

I remember when I first started browsing Celica.net most of the threads had something to do with the S2k Antenna and the Butterfly valve. That was sometime in November of 2000 I think. Its been a while.

I've been here since nc.org and celica.net started.
To my knowledge, it was "Spoolin".
Correct me if I'm wrong, because when I performed the butterfly mod (back in the day) for other 604 members to see, i said it was his idea.

jACEDesignsLtd is right. I think Spoolin did come up with that. If it wasnt him, then it was one of the early Celica.net members back in December of '99.
I think around that time Larry D was asking people to check out NewCelica.org.

Sport Compact car was the originator of the butterfly mod. Have no idea about the s2000 antenna. I think someone tryed it and got it to work. But it wasn't till after the car was released which was well after our first year for the 7th gen.

Is this true? Because when Spoolin' (=John Unnever??) did the butterfly mod when the site came out, I saw the SCC article came out about half a year later (referring to the black celica project car with RMM short ram intake)
And yea, I've been around. Just viewing, not posting between the two sites. I find that nc.org has more technical info for the 7th gen celis and celica.net is geared towards the older gen celis.

I have the issue when SCC got the car long before Larry, John, Myself or any of us got our hands on our new cars. They explained about taking the butterfly valve out before the car was even released. I had the BF valve out in the first hour I had the car, and was the first to dyno the actual results with it in and out.

RacinJason,
Thanks for clearing that up. I thought that spoolin' had did it first and performed the tech article for celica.net. Then after a couple of months later, I saw an SCC mag with the black celica project car on the cover (that issue talked about installing the RMM intake i recall). So I assumed that SCC probably learned of us doing the BF delete, so they tried it themselves.

John actually used the tech article I made up for it a long while back. Now I see he made his own. He just linked to the article I gave Larry to use on NC.org. John's site is looking GOOD!!! I like it alot.
