Does anyone know if there is a post on changing the oil in the GT-S? If I don't do it on my own, anyone know if they charge much more for synthetic at most places?
Also, I know some new cars require a service record of oil changes for the warranty... I bought mine used so I wasn't sure if ours does?
Oh, and wtf is Barret Pkwy? Is that where we were at hanging at American Play?

There aren't any post that I know of. You will need about 4 1/2 quarts and a oil filter (for some reason it's not in the owners manual). You might want to use jackstands to make it easier, but it can be done without them unless your car is lowered. Remove plastic under passenger side. There are two screws and about 4 - 6 plastic clips holding it on. It's actually very easy to do. You might want to get some replacement clips. I broke all but one of mine.
I think it would probably be about $30-45 dollars including oil to pay someone. Cheaper with regular oil ~ $20.
I have never heard of a Celica owner being denied warranty work b/c of no oil change records.
Barret Pkwy. is the place where we hung out at US play.

yea, barry pretty much explained all the somewhat tricky stuff (taking off the plastics). after that, it's all easy. i decided to try mine for the first time the other day and it was real easy, didn't take but about 45 or so minutes. and now that i know where all the plastics that need to be removed are, it should be easier. when i had mine done at toyota w/ full syn. it was around $45 i think.(only about $25 when i did it myself) they also threw in getting a stain of oil on the top of my engine from my oil cap for free. i think barry also said they messed up his engine plastics or something too. so, i wouldn't really reccomend using the dealers.
hope it goes well, and if you have any more questions about it just post them and one of us should be able to help. by the way, i did keep a reciept of buying the oil and wrote at the bottom "oil changed at ---- miles on (date). not sure if it's required, but my dad reccomended doing it for warranty reasons.

Sounds okay, I plan on making the meet this weekend so if i haven't looked under the car yet and found the pieces obvious think anyone could point them out? Also, what filter did you guys buy? I'd thought TRD sold one but its been a while since I'd thought about it, but now that I finally switched the odometer to the total mileage instead of the current I noticed I was 100 miles over.

TRD is not worth the money. I don't think TRD makes parts for the celica anymore. There are way too many Echoes and Minivans that need superchargers and racing suspensions.

yea, TRD makes one but it's a rip off. i got a purolator one for like $4 and it works just fine (opposed to the $20-25 the TRD one costs). or if you wanna be a little more high class, buy an oem toyota one (but it's still probably overpriced). any will work as long as you change your oil on a regular basis. and yea, i'll be glad to point out which plastic part to take off this weekend, but it is pretty easy to find.
