Well, I was at my parents' place this weekend trying to remove my turbo, manifold, downpipe, etc... I was supposed to install my new upgraded CT26 (my old upgrade which came with the car died was dying). Anyway, I was soooo close to removing everything, but there were 2 bolts that i couldn't remove... one of which is stripped! So, i had to have it towed to a shop!!! :-( How pathetic!!! Hopefully, I can finish everything up tomorrow!

I swear...2nd gen MR2's are awesome...sure, it sucks when something goes wrong with them...but man, they look awesome and they perform awesomely (if that is even a word)...definitely everything an enthusiast wants in a car.

As for your problem, that is seriously messed up, I know if it happened to me, I would be shouting obscenities for hours...all that work and you end up not being able to finish it off...nothing more irritating than that when you are working on a car.

why don't you get that universal socket. it's about the size of a 3/4 socket and has little pins in it. it fits to any side bolt you have (under 3/4 sizeish). it can be used for a 9mm bolt to a 17-19mm bolt.

i really can't remember what's it called.

Gator Grip or something like that.

Anyways, don't feel too bad. At least you're not in the boat my friend has found himself in. He's got a mkIII Supra down with a BHG due to some detonation in the 6th. We were gonna get him a new timing belt on his car so the crank pulley must come off in order to remove the lower timing cover. The crank bolt which hold the pulley onto the crankshaft is one tough mutha that has a factory torque rating of somewhere around 210 ft

The headaches of working on a car goes right out the window when you get everything back together and go for that first ride.

That sucks. I had some maintanence trouble this week end, but only because I forgot a part :gap: Thank god I didn't take the tranny pan off.

NOT TRUE!!! Anyway, the guy at the shop i took it too was able to remove the bolt, so I had it towed back to my parents' place yesterday! After about 2 days of working on the removal, it only took 2 hours to install everything. I was a bit in a rush, though... went way too fast for my own good. So, i hop in take it for a spin, and it's not pulling like i thought it would!!! I could hear the turbo spool, but the car just doesn't go anywhere! And to make matters worse, after i come back home and park the car, i hear a lil hiss coming from the engine... i pop the hood and it turns out that one of the hoses is leaking coolant!!! So, now i go autozone, buy a new hose and coolant and take it for a spin again!! Still the same result. Anyway, after a few more trial runs, i find out that i'm missing the hose that's coming from the intercooler going towards the throttle body is missing a clamp!!! It's 6pm now, i'm tired and frustrated, so i'm gonna start again tomorrow. Hopefully that's the culprit!!! But that first ride was truly disappointing!!!

4th line from the bottom, i meant to say *the hose that's coming from the intercooler to the throttle body is missing a clamp.* No, i'm not missing the entire hose!!!

Did you try to drill it out? I think it would have been cheaper then getting it towed to a shop and having it done.
