i finally found the fuse that is responsible for my non-functioning brake lights. i was glad to find that the fuse was blown, which meant that a bigger problem was non-existent. OK, so i replace the fuse at my local parts store, and when i get home, my brake lights aren't working again.

i check the fuse to find that it is blown again. i say to myself "probably just a bad fuse." so i put in another one.

the fuse blows again! what is going on here? one of my friends said that i have to take it to an electrical maintenance shop. Does anybody know how I can fix this? am i doing something wrong?

for sure i didn't get the wrong fuse. I got a 10A, just like the OEM one.

thanks in advance.

Your problem is that you have one of the wires behind the center console grounding out.
If you have done any electrical work at all to your car, check ALL connections...

This could mean one of the following or maybe more:
Clock power wire
Lighting for center console
Tail light wireing
Accessory power
Stereo
...and than there are the others...

My proplem was that I had guages that were powered by the clocks power wire and that it kept on coming loose and touching the "stabizer bar" (whatever it is) inside the dash.

try having every single wire under the dash on the driverside of the car ground out against each other for some unexplainable reason causing one helluva stinky electrical burn and smokeout while driving, getting paranoid as f*ck thinking that my car is gonna catch on fire, and then having to spend nearly 2 days (3hr each day) trying to re-wire it back to somewhat normal.....

since my car had 64,000 miles on it at the time toyota won't warrenty it since my warrenties expired once i hit 60k !!

toyota wanted over 1500 to re-wire my entire dash/car - i'm good for now thanks, but no thanks..... i'll try it myself
so far my cruise control, factory alarm, and power door locks STILL don't work !!

Hey DJ Turd,
If you have so much money to pour into your celi (what has it been now around 90,000?) Why don't you just pay the 1500 to get it fixed right?

Hey A$$hole. At least what I said has merit. You are just talking out of your a$$. Don't get all pissed because in OT we can tell you exactly how we feel and don't have to sugar coat everything to pleasy your candy a$$. Answer me honestly................if you have so much money to pour into your car..........why don't you at least fix it right? Don't attack me directly until you have the intellect to come up with decent thoughts.........I expect to never hear from you again.
