Just curious. I am about to buy the NX stage one system and was wondering what jet to use. I am thinking of the 50 shot. I have heard of people going 75 and was wondering how many of you do it? Seems kind of risky to me.

eh i dunno. with 91 octane in ca, i wouldn't run 75 shot on my gts.

I ran a 75 shot on my GT until someone f*'d with my car. Didn't have any problems really.. besides toastin plugs every now and then (and i ran copper plugs 2 stages colder) the only thing i recommend is making sure you use a wot switch and a window switch. I installed the nx window switch and it worked great.

I ran a NX 75shot for over a year and had no problems.
Burnt up my factory plugs in about 6 month, but thats about it.

I think I am going to play it safe and go with the 50 shot on my GTS.

how did you guys know when your plugs are fried? will that contribute to detonation if plugs are fried?

Oh... you'll know. :)
And I would not go any higher then 50 on a GT-s.

heh, lets just say your car at idle won't be the same when your plugs are fried.

can you guys explain it more in details? how bad will idle be? will it drop to 200 rpm than shoot up to 3k? how will i know? cuz my engine will start banging or something?

i've been running a 50 shot of nx in my gts for awhile now. All I did was change the plugs to the ngks. I've been thinking of going up to a 75 shot for awhile now. The car seems to be running fine with the 50. Blowing by mustang gt's and wrxs is I think i will try it once just to see though!:D

has anyone runing the 75 shot gone to get a Leak Down Test to see if there has been any damaging effects ?

ran a 75 shot for about 6 mo. and I burned up an exhaust valve on the #2 cylinder. Also burned up my plugs on #2 and #4 cylinders.

He actually showed me that valve... bitch was burned and part of it was missing... after seeing his setup I'm considering copy-cat'ing his setup with a 50 shot with a WOT switch.

ive been using a 50 shot on my direct port setup and i swear the car should have came with that much power cuz it feels like it was meant to go that fast.

thread ressurection i know, but on your second motor? is that b/c you blew the first one with a 75 shot? If so what mistakes did you make to blow it? Also does anyone know of someone thats blown there motor on a 50 shot?

i've never heard of anyone blowing there motor on a GT. its really on how its installed and how often you use it. for a GT-S..i believe the most you can run safely will be a 50 shot and a GT 75shot

ran a 75 shot for while until recently, no problems at all, loved it.
However I ONLY ran it on 103 octane gas

I run similar size shots also on my gt-s, (also with race gas) the only thing I heard of on the GT is somehow people having fuel puddling in the intake manifold and blowing the plastic apart

I run 75 shot except for mid-summer, I switch to 62 shot. On hot days your bottle pressure will be much higher. This method has worked well for me for years.

Is this on a gt or gt-s... what kind of gas were you running? What spark plugs?
If you guys ever get the chance to see what too hot of a plug will do on the dyno you'll get the idea of what happans... I've actually seen a 30!! whp gain from changing to the right heat range plug... the wrong plugs will cost you horsepower and cost you money when the engine is destroyed from detonation
