does anyone know approximately how much 17" inch enkei cdr-9s would weigh with kumho ecsta 712 215/40 tires. Also how much do the stock 16" wheels with tires weigh. Would the new tires weigh less since the sidewall is smaller? Is the weight difference enough to influence acceleration or braking? Are there any benefits to the larger heavier wheel? Thanks.

Don't know about the tires, but here are the CDR9 weights from the enkei site:

Silver 15 x 6.5 16.72 lbs
Silver 16 x 7 18.92 lbs
Silver 17 x 7 21.56 lbs
Silver 18 x 7 23.1 lbs

From the few topics I've read about tire weights, it seems like they weigh between 18-25 lbs in the sizes that we usually consider.

For a good article on "plus-sizing" wheels & tires, go here:

so since each of these rims weigh about 2.5 pounds more than stock rims, is that gonna make any difference in acceleration or braking?
