what should i do..i dont want to spend over $500 on subs and amp..i dont want anything that people can hear me coming just some bass that sounds nice,,help me out with what i should get

the only difference between one ten or two is the SPL level. It will still produce the same sound quality if both subs are in a correctly built box. The 12 may go a little lower. I was just going by what you wanted which was to get some nice sounding bass that doesn't need to be heard for miles. I think one 10 would do the job perfectly. The best thing to do is go to your local car audio shop and audition a few subs with your favorite CDs. That should help you decide what you want.

i'm almost into the same setup.. i'm just really uncomfortable with the stock subs.. i listen to trance and dance stuff and hip hop...
i'm still looking at a single 12 inch sub with amp.. people are saying i should have about 400 dollars for a decent setup.. so i'm saving up.. and MAN do our cars need dynomatting hahah

well i went out and got two 10's sony xplod 700w and the sony x 760 amp and im gonna get my friends new bandpass box for 50 bucks...so i spent alittle over 400 bucks not including install but my friend is gonna do it for me...ill post pics when i get it set up
