I didn't know if this was a Mod, or an Audio/Security topic so I just decided to put it here.

Anyway, does anyone know of a good Nav system? I'm not sure how much I'm willing to spend....I'm sure they are anywhere from the high hundreds to high thousands. But what is a good mid priced product?

I saw Alpine's systems and they looked pretty sweet. But, it didnt list Toyota for who they manufacture for.

Any input would be appreciated!

Search in the Audio forum for DVD/nav systems. People are talking about them all the time.

alpine nav (ehh)
kenwood (pretty nice)
eclipse (nice in all areas) - but no maps (WHAT!!!!) just directions.

then there are a bunch of others but those are the ones I'd recommend.

So what I'm getting from all of this, is that the NAV system is seperate from the LCD screen. Is this right? I mean, you could buy any LCD screen and hook it up to the nav system?

Someone can move this topic to the right area if they want.

the apline can be integrated into a screen from alpine or otherwise... kenwood is a separate system that you can connect as well. eclipse is std. but i would never get it cause its got no maps.. what a shame.. otherwise its perfect.

Copilot 2002 is THE best in-car navigation software. Only problem is (well, for most people, anyway) you need a computer to run it. :)

i'm sorry but i'd have to disagree... i'm comparing this software to the nav that came in the acura tl-s... there's no gyrosensor in here to monitor your acceleration, deceleration, turning, speed, and braking. This makes the system less acurate to the GPS signal.
