View Full Version : Question about installing my TRD springs
Just ordered my springs early this week and went to a local shop and the mechanic said he had to take out the back seats to install my springs.
Did anyone else have to do this to install their springs or is the mechanic just making up bull crap so he can take longer (and get paid more)?

How much does cost at the dealership to do it? (at least for the TRD lowering springs?)

I've quoted my dealer back then, they are charging me $700 because they will include alignment.
But I have a family friend mechanic, i only paid him $180 for installation and alignment.
For installation the guy is going by an hourly charge (59 bucks) hence why he wants to "take out my back seats to install springs"
I dont' know about the alignment though.
He said it usually takes 2 hours max...

No way he has to take out your back seats. And it will only take like an hour or so if the person knows what there doing. It only took my friend like an hour and 15 min or so.

Its like a 4 hour job. The fricking back seats do not have to come out. That is incorrect-dont get duped.
