Hey anyone that has a CAI....I have narrowed it down to AEM or Injen but my biggest concern is the infamous CEL. If everyone could tell me which one you have and whether you have gotten a CEL.
Also......Anyone with a BLUE Injen intake......Please post a pic. I think I really want this but want to see what it looks like first.

the third gen injen cai will not cause the cel to turn on. mine came on, and i called injen. if there's a problem, they'll be more than happy to help you figure the problem. it's been a month or so. no problems since.

I've had my CAI installed now for like 3-4 weeks and no CEL (knocks on wood). I did get a CEL right after it was installed, but that's because we reversed two plugs. But after that, the car's been running fine and I get better gas mileage too.

How did you figure out you switched the plugs ?

The friend who installed it for me used to be a mechanic. After like half an hour of driving, I would get the CEL. I tried to reset the ECU by unplugging the battery and it would go away and then come back. So I took it back to him and he examined all the hoses. We noticed that there would be a continuous sucking sound, and I guess he said it should have been intermittent (vacuum switch?). He noticed that both plugs (there is a blue and black one) are keyed the same so he switched them, reset the ECU and the CEL never came back. He said that if I had kept it like it was, my fuel tank would have shrunken up like a raisen over time.
Also, I had noticed someone posted a question about an unused plug...a BLUE unused plug (we had left the black plug unused), so that kinda reassured me.

I've been running the 3rd gen ingen for about three weeks or maybe a month with no CEL yet. I think this may be the way to go.

been a good 6-7 months with my 2nd gen (i believe) Injen CAI and never a CEL seen, I don't even expect to see one, so Injen kinda seems like the right way to go in terms of avoiding the CEL...performance, I believe Injen is a bit better in terms of high end HP but AEM may have a better all around HP gain, low and high RPMS. Sound: supposidly I believe Injen is louder, but AEM is deeper. This is all stuff I believe I have picked up from the board, maybe some other members can confims some of the above info, good luck bro, peace, Tim

I really don't get it. A few months ago everyone and their brother had their CEL come on from their CAI. Now, nobody has a problem with them. Oh well I guess the intakes just got better. Looks like I will be OK with either one.

My GT is totally different, I have tried, AEM, INjen, injen short ram, and AWAYS had a CEL after a day or so, no matter what i did. THe only intake I ever had that did not cause a CEL was my TPR intake.
It has to be the MAFS, maybe some are not as sensitive as others.

There was this injen intake (http://www.thepartsbin.com/injen-cold-air-intake.html/) I was able to buy last month in a very affordable price. I had it with complete necessary pieces. It has a good quality. I hope you could find one same with mine.
