How do I get at my headunit?

I'm not what you might call an audio expert, I actually paid to get my eclipse deck installed but I am trying to figure out why my subs aren't working. I think the rca's may have been pulled out. I know the amp has power going to it because there is a power light that goes on, so i am just assuming that the the problem is between the deck and amp or between amp a subs, but i doubt that. Do I have to remove my ENTIRE dash just to get the stereo out? Or is there some easier way i am overlooking? thanks.

you just have to take out the center consoel.do that buy pulling up on the plastic around the shift boot. than take out the two screws under the air vents. than take off the knobs to the airvents and take those screws out. than just pull the whole thing out the rest will come out in one peice. that it is 4 10mm nuts that hold the radio in the dash
