some f*cken idiot put a small dent on the back fender of my baby this weekend. it looks like they stabbed it with a screwdriver or something. i don't know who it was, but I have a couple of suspects.
does anyone know where to get a good security camera? i don't have a garage so I need a camera to keep an eye out on by baby while I'm asleep.

if they did this at night then a security camera wont help too much .. and if you're gonna use the camera to identify them then you need a pretty high res camera so that you can effectively zoom in. On top of the camera itself you'd need to get a time-lapse vcr which is pretty expensive.. 3-500 i think... anyway its not worth the effort.. put an alarm in your car with a proximity sensor and you'll be fine.

gts laid is probale right as far as keeping poeple away. If you still want the added security of a camera you can go two ways. If you park in front of your house you can set up a digital video camera with nigh vision. Cameras cost about 200-400 dollars with a good zoom. If you want a more economical approach get a netcam and move your pc by the window while you sleep. You can havge it set to take a picture ever few seconds or so. This would cost about 30-100 dollars.

well i got a camera just for that purpose and it works great audio/video color with the great ol night vision ive had to many probs with cars in the past so let them try now. plus my alarm is so sensitive and with all the motion sensors they can try all night but now there on camera. i have the link at home of where i got it i think i paid like 300 for it but its well worth it. all it has is a one power wire and i have the audio / video wires going right into the vcr taping for 9 hours works for me.

Well, there could be another choice too...here is what I eventually will be doing...
If you have heard of X-10 equipment they have a lot of remote and home automation stuff. This includes remote cameras. Then run specials where you can get like three cameras for like 100 bucks. Get yourself a deal like this, then buy a motion sensor light and aim it at where you park your car along wtih one camera. Now these cameras can be hooked directly up to your computer via wire or wirelessly. I would imagine you could do time lapse recording of a camera on your computer rather easily. Now it might not be the best resolution or anything, but with three cameras, and the fact that they can be wireless, hell, you could put a damn camera inside your car if need be aiming out the driver widow or whatever...
HAve never played with this stuff personally, but once I have some extra dough I will pick some up to play around with for fun...
