It seems hard to find wheels that fit, has anyone fit 235-49/17's yet. Of all the autox tires there aren't many with our diameter.

Yes there are. Our diameter is 15 inch. 17's are too big and heavy plus as you have noticed there is really not a good sized "R" tire available

Hoosier does make a P205/40ZR-17 (in Road Race compound)
