went with the local maxima club to dyno our cars this morning

a few things to note:
-new 6spd Maxima with intake...217@the wheels
-RSX type S...172 baseline, put on an Injen intake (cold air?) 178
-me :(

3rd gear - 163/116 (hp/tq corrected)
4th gear - 158.4/115

apparent reasons for my ****ty numbers: soaked/clogged filter (i had snow packed in the wheel wells and control arms - guess the rallying on the snow covered streets didn't help), my fugly steelies, and something else i just cant remember

*sigh* any other thoughts on this??

what are your mods.. only a CAI?? thts not too bad for only a CAI.. figure 153 stock.. most cars are putting down close to 170 with CAI..

1st gen Injen RD and blitz nurspec

when they were looking at my graph, the first thing they said (judging by the way it looked) was the filter, so i guess i'll hafta try again with a clean filter

maybe you need some tuning with safc?

or toss the CAI and just get the Blitz intake

How can you compare a 1.8 liter car to one with a 3.0L engine?

some people just care about overall hp.... displacement not many people are concerned about. however, the better the hp/displacement value, the higher technology required. (output from input) the GT-S has a ratio of 100. S2000 has a ratio of 120. in my book they are "high tech" cars. as for nissan, their engines are kinda LOW tech.... high displacement, moderately high hp.

thats what i like about japanese cars too, most have highly developed engines. unlike them big muscle cars..... with 10L displacement and 500 hp....(exaggeratin, but u know what i mean)

i deviated from the topic somewhere after the first sentence... sorry ;)

kinezo: dont feel bad about ur car, its a wonderful piece of machinery...

Dealer Xing: not comparing the celica to the maxima or the rsx - i just thought you guys would wanna know what these things really got (ie the whole 180ish to the wheels the rsx got from clubrsx)

dont get me wrong, i was just surpised (and reporting) my low (low) numbers :( guess it's a lesson to all to keep your filters clean and dont be lazy like me :)
