I hope this helps people who are thinking about getting the Molly Wing.... FYI... Molly Designs NEVER got back to me with regards to the poor fittment of the wing....
Here's some pics from my wing install.... YOU HAVE TO DRILL INTO THE TRUNK LID.
1. First you need to cut off the 'nipples' and under the nipples are rivets which will need to be drilled out.

2. Here you can see the difference in the bottom of the wing.

3. Here you can see how far off the holes are from the stock holes.

4. On the driver side we had to widen the stock holes.

5. On the passenger side we had to drill new holes all together....
OUCH!

Conclusion... was it worth it??? For me yes... I love this wing and that sucker is never coming off!!!

Still kinda shocked it doesn't fit, I mean you'd think they'd atleast think to try to install the thing somewhere along the line before releasing it. They could have atleast gotten back to you about it too... oh well. It looks great though, hopefully they'll fix it in the next batch they make.
Nice ride!

The member running the group buy on the kit and wing called them and he said from the sounds of it they probably won't be changing it.

I was going to purchase the wing; But after learning it does not fit the stock holes, I'll pass. No way I'm drilling new holes for an afermarket wing. If it doesn't fit the stock holes, I'll pass.

looks awesome. i love that spolier. my plans are to eventually get that spolier and a kaminari front to replace my trd spolier and trd front bumper. but that wont be for awhile!
so all you did was enlarge the top hole in the driver side and pretty much drilled new ones in the passanger side?
cant you just enlarge all holes(passanger and driver) so then it will fit? well since you kept the driver side holes and moved the passanger side holes, wouldnt that mean your wing is shifted by a few mm to the driver side??
also, why does the bottom hole(before drilling) look so much longer on the driver side than the passanger side

that's wat i was asking...cuz now the wing isn't centered now right?
anyways...this isn't going to stop me from getting this wing!

It is centered.... for some reason all the holes were different sizes... and I'm really not sure why.... 3 are round and one is like an oval shape..... here's a pic from the rear. You also have to take in to account that the bolts sticking out of the base of the wing are not centered on the wing... those are off a bit too....

Not the best pic but it's not off.
It almost looks like some of the holes were machine cut and others weren't......

I love the wing but they should fix the holes.
Do they need signatures from us so that they can fix this holes?? Let us know, we will do it.
I also hope Beto could copy this wing

Such a nice wing; too bad it's not a perfect fit.

yeah beto should copy it and make it with a perfect fit.. that would be tight.

hey...also, can we put holes into the wing so we dont have to drill out the nipples/rivets thing?

Doesn't look like that much trouble. The new holes are still underneath where the stock spoiler sits, so if you ever want to go back to stock, nobody will ever know. You can pretty much drill the holes yourself if you have the right drill bit. If you're worried about water getting in, you can just cover the original holes with duct tape or something.

also, why does the bottom hole(before drilling) look so much longer on the driver side than the passanger side Probably for space for the wiring of the TRD wing. It has a brake light mounted in it. Keeps costs down instead of making separate trunk panels for regular and Action Package Celicas.Originally posted by baNanA_ryCe
hey...also, can we put holes into the wing so we dont have to drill out the nipples/rivets thing? Depends what kind of material the wing is made of. I'd be afraid of it cracking from stress if it was made of fiberglass.

The wing is FG.... and in my opinion it's much easier to drill out the rivets....

BTW... we filled all the holes with silicone... so no water would get in.

What a waste. They took all that time on the wing, and couldn't even get it right:thumbdown
